When it comes to understanding public vs. private, you have an incorrect view, not "opposing". I definitely don't know everything, but my confidence may come through here because I know this is not a public space and I know you're wrong. You think that just because you were able to walk right in, it must be public. Nope, not how it works. Go test the locks on the front doors of some homes in the south, you'll find out right quick what's public and what's private.
