So I’ve had a few people tell it’s only transferred by scissors then another guy that also seems knowledgeable says it can spread from contact like two plants beside each other touching?

Has anyone else heard either way?

I’ve isolated moms til testing is done and starting seeds for the next few runs. Problem is my rooms are already full of cuts I haven’t had tested yet. I’d say about only 50% of last run was marketable. Tried blasting the other material and got minimal return, barely enough to pay the extractor.

Luckily the one run I have further along seems to be pretty good, seeing lots of very large fan leaves which doesn’t seem to happen with the effected plants. But we shall see at the end. Plants didn’t look all that sick last run just didn’t finish up all that well. If I had been looking for symptoms I might have noticed thinking back on it though as I remember thinking I like this particular strain as it didn’t need as much defoliation, but I think that was from lack of large fan leaves.

The other run I have going in is just a large variety so if any strains do have it hopefully it won’t be anywhere near 50% loss.

Wouldn’t be so scary if this wasn’t my job, and was just growing for myself. It takes a lot of money just to pay for the cost of a run, and I’m not doing too well atm.

What really sucks is I’ve spent years building up my mother stock. I’ve been thru 100+ seed packs and run 30+ breeder cuts to find what I’ve found. It’s part of the reason I was doing so well, my patients really like some of my strains.

Then they want 7k per cut to get em clean. And the guy at Dark Heart I talked to said they just use meristem tc, when I mentioned I heard there were other steps needed to clean the cut they said no they just do meristem tc. Yet I have read and heard they plants undergo a cold snap therapy during the tc to get it done right, they say it’s similar to a chemo for plants. But then again it could just be guys trying to make money. I don’t doubt they can get the viroid level low enough to pass testing, but if any is still there it will eventually build the levels back up.

I asked a couple of people of labs a few questions and seems it passes around a lot more easily that most people anticipated and lasts on surfaces for weeks but honestly not sure until we find some solid studies.
