if you have a light on seedlings that’s isn’t close to them, but the light reading is right, will they stretch? My light has no dimmer

Like said if it’s getting adequate light they won’t if not they will. You will HAVE to use light height adjustment without a dimmer and if they stretch a little while your dialing in,it’s not the end of the world just transplant them deep

Ya I got that Photone app but your right most likely nothing like a real meter. A lot here have said it’s not too bad when compared. That’s a real good point on the actual phone quality

Id say no, as long as they get enough light for their development stage. If you think about the sun and how strong sun light is and how far away thw sun is this should probably be obvious. But in the end, only the plant knows, look what your seedlings are doing and adapt to that.

I use a lux meter to adjust my led for seedlings. There is kind of a fine line between too much and too little light during the first two weeks, too much and growth slows down a lot, too little and you get spindly seedlings. 8-10k lux seems a good range while their roots are still filling up a cup.

Read the plants before resorting to equipment. If it stretches, lower the light. If it doesn't stretch but seem to be getting too bushy and dense, raise the light. Equipment is only as useful as the knowledge the cultivator possess.
