Theres a few things that dont make sense with those specs, maybe you could pass the full link? Maybe this is the thrive version cause i dont recognize the specs
I think these are the "high output" versions of the gen3.

Edit: the first picture at least seems the high output ones.

Pretty sure the second is thrive vestas, max amp and a few things dont line up as.standard vesta. Id probably rec against using thrive unless power isnt much of an issue: these strips have an amazing spectrum but not great output, and the spectrum benefits you could also get using sammie 301h evo (wider blue peak).

They all work fine, blux strips tend to be lower power which means you need more for the same performance as sammies. But also if you run them soft, at nominal, you dont really need any heatsinking

Do you have any recommendations on a good mid range samsung strip? You seem to know what you're talking about im just guessing, im a welder by trade and sourcing aluminium isn't an issue for heating, also is it worth running 630nm leds as well?

Chip/strip selection with leds is very much a numbers/bang for buck game. If you have 10% efficiency difference between one strip and another you can usually make up for that by running more strips at half power. The blux chips are all fine, i even see great results from gen1 vestas.

630nm leds: yeah i guess but most people would run 660nm next to white. 660 is more efficient, theres less of it in q standard white spectrum and it has a flower stimulating response. You can usually target 630 output by using 90 cri strips (like vestas).


If you want help with a build its a good idea to post your space size, including height, your budget and approx where you are (for advice around which outlet to use and what climate you have; leds need heat and wont grow well in cold).

If your trying on the cheap then blux eb gen2 is an excellent choice. The vestas are also great, nice big diode count and 2 separate spectrums, both very useful for growing

My room is 7'.5x5'.5 with 6'.5 headroom but I plan to swap it over gradually so I only want to do half at the moment, so I'm thinking of getting 10 of 1 of these 2 strips, which one would be better?

The samsung option is probably a bit better but have you thought about the fit? Can you actually fit 2x 4' strips in the long side of your space? Also you might be a bit light on strip count, atleast for the blux option. You need about 600w to flower that space (the half youre building now) and the blux option would only be able to do this ok with both channels on.

Edit: the blux strip quoted is the one row version which has half the diodes of the 2 row version, in essence its the same as a 2 row/2 foot strip in diode count.

I didn't actually check the wattage of the strips just looked at the lumen, how many strips would I need?

The blux strip is about 30w per channel at nominal and i wouldnt really go much harder. if you want to be able to use the ww and cw indicidually then youre looking at 20 strips. Id be much more worried over how to fit them in though, looks like they are just over 7.5 feet if you put them on that length, and if you go across instead your trying to cover 5.5 feet with 4 feet of strip: there would be about 1.5 foot with very little light
