Yeah your gonna be hurting by harvest time. You'll lose many of your top buds if you don't do something. Here’s what it looked like last week, slowly losing my little walkway…

This is bad ,very bad.Its mold central station.Better have shits of fans in there now and big exhausting. Here’s what it looked like last week, slowly losing my little walkway…
Fortunately this greenhouse can roll up the front and back (two layers, one with just a screen to keep pests out), and has six “windows” I keep open all the time. I guess I just really have to get a little more aggressive to free up some space.I just roll up the sides on a hoop house till flower
Plenty of air flow
On raising the walls
It gets a bit tricky with winds and storms
Mine are only 7 foot and at least twice a season I’m out there making repairs
Anybody got tracking devices for those 3/4 inch farmers clamps? My mower is really good at finding them
When I hit that " ceiling" , I start bending top over , slowly. I start by hanging very light weights , like small washers, and incrementally add weight. It'll bring it down so it can stretch horizontally. I've ended up with pipe wrenches weighting down branches.Hi all, can’t recall if I’ve posted before, but I’ve lurked for like a decade. I’ll try to keep this short but provide as much info as needed…
I’m in Northern California and growing several plants outdoor in a 12’ L x 6.5’ W x 6.5’ H greenhouse (mainly for privacy). I have grown outdoor before but generally in 5 gallon pots and in not the best sunlight. I planted bag seeds mid-March, and now at the end of the June, quite a few of my tops are hitting the ceiling. I have two trellis nets already set up and have bent many branches through, and recently tried some supercropping and tying down, but they bounce back so quickly and I keep running out of space…
Now that we’ve passed the summer solstice, I’m a little worried about the timing for topping, but a few brown spots on new growth (from leaning against the ceiling/walls) have convinced me to just start hacking at the tops.
Any thoughts or recommendations? When is it too late to top? Should I do something else instead? Thanks in advance.
any chance you can lose the top altogether? or figure out a way to raise it. I would hate to see you lose your top buds after all the work you've put in. You look to get a nice harvest out of those if you give them room to finish. Best of luck, you've got a lot riding on this.Fortunately this greenhouse can roll up the front and back (two layers, one with just a screen to keep pests out), and has six “windows” I keep open all the time. I’ve really been racking my brain on the best plan of action. I almost removed the cover last night, cuz I really don’t want to lose what I’ve worked pretty hard to set up. I even installed a drip system a couple months ago before I put the cover on. It’s just the neighbors preventing me from opening it up since we’ve only been at this place since December, I’d like to remain as “undercover” as possible, and my wife’s not a fan of having them visible. Ideally I’d remove the greenhouse altogether, but I’m thinking of the best way to raise it now.any chance you can lose the top altogether? or figure out a way to raise it. Hey that’s an interesting idea too. I have plenty of little hardware things I can use as weights. Might be worth trying on a few. When I hit that " ceiling" , I start bending top over , slowly. Be careful not to overload with weight...go slow.
Every day twice a day?Very good.
As I dont almost smoke and don´t need much weed, I solve your problem makeing them flower soon when they are abou 1 m high. Covering hoophous with dark film for 12 hours. I´m about to do this this year, probably july 7th.
Yes, sold my busines and now working from home. No problem, worth it.Every day twice a day?
Good luck with bothYes, sold my busines and now working from home. No problem, worth it.
Depends on motivation. Have to walk a dog as well so just a little more job with hoophouse.
Good luck with both
I can’t dedicate twice a day seven days a week to brushing my teeth
I've done it fHey that’s an interesting idea too. I have plenty of little hardware things I can use as weights. Might be worth trying on a few.
That top branch will be tender...start the bend with lightest weight you can to get it started to bend down. A few times I've put a little too much weight on , the branch appears to hold weight fine but I come back later and it's bent in half. I go through a ton of different sized washers( make little hooks to put around branch to hold weights) at first then move on to heavier items. I just hooked one up to show you how I start.Hey that’s an interesting idea too. I have plenty of little hardware things I can use as weights. Might be worth trying on a few.
If the stem near the top isn’t woody at all and seems like new growth still, you should be able to clone it. Then you’ll just have some late season shorties you’ll have to find a place for. At least you’d still have your strain.I’ve really been racking my brain on the best plan of action. I’m not sure how feasible this would be, but just popped into my head: I haven’t cloned before but did buy some Clonex.. if I did cut a little more off the tops, could it be possible to root them and continue growing the cuttings in pots?
Thanks! You guys have all been super helpful and it’s def appreciated. I’d be glad to post a few updates as time progresses. If the stem near the top isn’t woody at all and seems like new growth still, you should be able to clone it. Maybe you can just dig your floor deeper, hehe?
