The guys that drilled my water well back in 2018 charged $15 a foot to drill. Once the Asians came around, he started charging $50 a ft. He had not done a residential drill for 3 years. All grow ops. That dude banked some serious cash. He’d drill a well and only get 4 gallons a min, those Asians would just say drill more wells. And hitting water is a crap shoot. We hit water at 79 ft, and drilled to the bottom of the aquifer at 225, set the pump at 195ft. Others may have to drill 300 ft before they hit water…. Do the math.

Leave it for the folks that LOVE it. Quit trying to make everything be about taking money from someone else.
It doesn't matter how nice the weed looks, if it sucks. A LOT of legal weed just plain sucks. If I smoked a joint of a Mexico brick, It worked. It didn't matter how much percentage of thc whatever or what terps it had. And it was cheap. I guess mexicans can do it better than Americans.

Yep, same boat. I chose not to renew this year and shut my little grow down. My situation was, I’d inherited my deceased family’s large commercial building, had enough cash to get some equipment, and no shortage of desire to grow and learn what I could while I could. Not everyday that opportunity comes along.

I knew the business side would be a challenge, so I was putting my effort into finding some really unique stuff grown organically that would “sell itself”. Ultimately, I did it because I wanted to pheno hunt on a scale I wouldn’t be able to otherwise. I expected it to sell better, but by the time I had any kind of decent product, the market was flooded. I had some primo harvests, and literally everything was done by me, down to the hand trimming and making custom bag tags. Had a pretty decent thing going for a couple years. I just couldn’t be ok with the prices dropping and the obvious lack of knowledge about or desire for true quality. The market seems completely ok with junk herb with no regard for quality. Not my market. There’s some things in this world that are worth finding the really good craft/high quality stuff and not settling for bottom or mids: coffee, dark chocolate, food, herb, water, wine, etc.

Have no regrets tho, got connected with some of my favorite breeders through IG and whatnot, and found some really good herb. Made a bunch of seeds, and now just have a few projects going at the house. Relieved to be out, not dealing with Metrc and all the bs. I wish things would really turn around and the market would value craft and high quality small-production, if only for the plant’s sake to be valued more, especially regarding pedigree. Each his own.
So I say, F the market, grow your own, and grow a variety of older and rare genetics instead of 10 different types of the same bottlenecked genetics and hype crap. Happy Monday folks View attachment 5177093View attachment 5177094View attachment 5177095
I gather these are some of the quality genetics you found. I would love to hear about any others you would recommend, as I am trying to hunt for exceptional quality as well!

I’ve found good stuff from AK bean brains, serious seeds, lucky dog seed co, Bodhi, Thunderfudge, THSeeds, Humboldt Seed co, csi, and Crockett fam/DNA. Just depends on what you’re looking for. I’d be happy to share what I’ve learned and help you find what will suit you well.

And I’m not a breeder per se, but I did a fair bit of seed-making with a handful of males with good pedigree if you’re interested in any of my preservations.
What are you looking for most? Pain relief, sleep aid, energizing, easy growing, super loud terps, novel genetics, etc?

If you just want something that’s easy to grow and should reliably yield very resinous and medical herb, I’ve got my CBD Warlock x Northern Lites no1, and also crossed to Booty.

If you’re looking for super dank and potent, (White Fire x tk) x Hunza Valley91, WFTK x Booty, Booty x HV91, Gadzooks x Booty, and others.

Sativa? WFTK x TKNL5Haze Haze dominant, (Sunrise Thai x Chocolope) x Booty, or STCh x TKNL5Haze.

I have pics of pretty much all the parents

I dug a pond in my mother's backyard and hit water 6 ft down. It sucked because it was a muddy mess when I went to put the pond liner in.

My keeper list has changed over the few years, but here the standouts in no order, basically all could be number one any given day; also the list of females I used in crosses, mostly

1. Hunza Valley91 from Lucky Dog Seed Co (the whole pack was exceptional)
2. Booty from Bodhi (the whole pack was exceptional, especially 2 males, the 5/6 short resinous black Afghani/hp leaners)
3. Gadzooks from Thunderfudge Genetics (possibly the most impressive and attention-getting herb I’ve found, incredible resin flavor and potency)
4. SAGE from TH Seeds (gosh I have lots to say about this pheno. Phenomenal terps and potency, and yield. Sadly lost her and didn’t get many seeds from her..)
5. CBD Warlock from Serious Seeds (can’t imagine life without this magnificent plant. Many seeds have been made with her)
6. Sunrise Thai x Chocolope from AKBB (real-deal pure Thai Sativa with a fun backstory/lineage track. Legit feels like you’ve been dosed with some sillysiben.. no ceiling, but not racy.)
7. Headband from Humboldt Seed co (some of the dank eat and most powerful herb I’ve had and grew really well)
8. White Fire 43 x Triangle Kush from CSI Humboldt (probably the most refined, pleasantly potent, and tastier herb I’ve found)
9. Lemongrass from Humboldt Seed Co (no6 is still the most thickly trichome-laden flower and sappiest stickiest resin I’ve found. Delicious smell and flavor, and it hits harder and faster than anything I’ve found. Lot of linalool in this one, very calming)
10. MK Ultra from TH Seeds (crushing, dreamy, hypnotic. Will give next day hangover, I don’t care what you’re tolerance is. Seriously potent.)
11. Blueberry Muffin from Humboldt Seed Co (generally not a fan of fruity, but this was one of the most impressive seed lines I’ve grown as far as uniform, all smelled like blueberry muffins, had one standout greener pheno and one super dark purpley blue pheno. Really great hashy flavor.)
12. Crockett’s Haze from DNA/CFF (ridiculous smells from pungent ammonia grapefruit catpiss, to sweet tropical smoothie, heavy Sativa yields, great resin. No-joke potency, like half-day ender if you’re silly with it. Winner)
13. Sensi Star x RKS from AKBB (some of the most psychedelic cerebral, feels like you’re flying through clouds at jet speed in the head, but the body is oh so mellow and you just have a smile you can’t seem to shake. It hits different than just about everything I’ve found.)
14. AKBB NL1 x ACC NL1 from AKBB (the good female i had is as expected: short, leafy, evergreen and earthy, and sticky sappy resin. Very narcotic effects. Very good smoke. No awards for bag appeal tho ha)

And for males used:

Booty short (resin males, exceptional)
Booty tall
Hunza Valley91
TKNL5Haze, Haze Dominant (AKBB)
Sensi Star x RKS
Crockett’s Haze
AKBB NL1 x ACC NL1 (AKBB)

This was properly pheno hunting through over 250 seeds; taking and keeping cuts, flowering them out, drying and testing, then deciding on whether to keep the cut or not. Of course, many either hermed or were obviously inferior. I found multiple keeper-worthy phenos in most of those packs. Ask me more questions.:blsmoke:

I'm just a personal garden grower who got into the history of genetics after I acquired a friend's seed bank. I always chuck pollen on a cola somewhere and have spent the last 4 years growing and selecting for outdoor success. I did start learning indoor as a winter hobby last year and am about using living soil and using rainwater and my homemade worm compost. I am looking for loud and strong, both sativa and indica, and preserving where I can, such as the Tom Hill's Pine Tar Kush I was fortunate enough to acquire. It is good to see other Okies on this same journey, though it may be years before this kind of boutique cannabis finds a viable market in our state, I believe it will one day. Just as craft beer and regional appelation wines have already. I doubt I will still be around, but maybe I can make a small contribution through some of the genetics I sift through, in my limited way.

What kind of medium did you grow in, and did you ever grow outdoors?

Exclusively KIS Organics Biochar Soil and their nutrient mix, compost teas, worm castings from KIS and my own, gypsum, epsom, frass, and RO Water. No synthetics fertilizers used. I guess epsom salt and gypsum could be considered synthetic, idk. Just trying to keep it clean and simple. Only used sprays a few times. Mostly used beneficial bugs if I had problems with aphids or gnats. My focus was/is on having as immaculately clean and pure flowers as I could achieve. For the most part, it was successful. Had learning curves for sure, but again, simple and clean, slow, operating solo, and small batch = high grade product.

This is my first season growing outside.

So far, my CBD Warlock x NL1s, Booty 8 and 13, WFTK x HV91, and WFTK x TKNL5Hazes are doing great outside. The sensi star/RKS no6 that did incredible inside is struggling and is not as hardy as the rest, but surviving.

have 2 very nice CBD Warlock x NL1 males I’m gonna let flower and put that pollen back on the CBD Warlock for a back cross project.

100% about preserving. Ten years from now everything is going t be inbred polyhybrid hell. Actually it already is. I got mine. That's all I care about.

My sentiments as well. I doubt I’ll ever grow a cut from someone else. I’ll still buy novel seed lines occasionally, but have some really good building vblocks to look through for some time. Not enough lifetimes to grow everything one Would like. And there’s so many genuinely good breeders and preservationists out there to buy into all the “hype a x hype b” stuff.
