"Musk has said making the company's internal deliberations public "is necessary to restore public trust." "
muck's "morality" is very fluid, it seems to become much stronger when it isn't applied to himself...Not that it is applicable in this situation, anyway.
I'm pretty confident that they have nothing, just like they've ever had, and on the very slim chance they do have some kind of dirt on Hunter, they'll still have nothing on Joe.
muck does seem very concerned about "public trust". He doesn't seem to be doing one fucking thing to restore it, but he does seem to be concerned about it. He seems to be behaving like a fascist enabler, an aide to white supremacists and conspiracy theorists. Hopefully the rest of his advertisers will not only leave twitter, but any other businesses of his that they are advertising with, as well. I wonder what his Saudi investors will do when twitter fails?
I don't see them taking the loss cheerfully.
The thing I think I see the Republican propagandists doing with this, they are purposefully confusing the topic of Hunter-Ghazi from it being 'Hunter's laptop' (Trigger phrase that has been hardened into any god damn thing that the people convinced themselves it means) being real, vs it being used in a Russian propaganda attack on our democracy.

I have no problem believing that Hunter had a laptop that somehow made into the hands of a repair shop owner. But that doesn't mean that it is not a set up to push propaganda. It doesn't matter what the truth of anything is in reality when they can just make shit up and troll people into believing whatever programming the trigger phrase activates.

The problem is that Musk releasing this may be nothing at all other than what we already know about the attack on our democracy being discussed by people working at twitter, and we just have to hope(?) that Musk is not pulling a Barr with a selectively edited release to highlight more propaganda narratives.

I don't know, it really doesn't matter. What does matter is that Twitter/Musk/Saudi's are conducting a $44 billion dollar attack on our democracy with this.

the EU government should get together with the US government and just suspend all of his operating licenses until he falls in line, something i would normally hesitate to suggest, but muck isn't a normal person, operating in a normal way. he's a hyper rich spoiled, ignorant, hateful child, who thinks he knows what is better for the world than the world does...he IS fucking Hank Scorpio...and actually, always has been, and always will be.
the worlds best hope is that he continues to hemorrhage money until he makes himself irrelevant, because his cash has always been the only source of relevance in his life.

I can't believe Congress has yet to do anything about..doesn't this fall under FCC regulations?..I might be naive but any one person to have a world platform like this might as well be the latest Hitler.

I wish it were shutdown along with FB rag Timeline...yeah that's real life..the best of someone else's posted..the competition, the depression, the suicide.

that would be one solution...which i would be fine with. when you put yourself in debt to the devil willingly, you should pay him when the contract comes due.
As odious as all this has become, we've come to the best part- most have painted themselves into a corner and the others? They have families; now that it's come down to brass tacks? Life is better on the outside. Family or Trump? Easy choice.

they stay technically within the law, the same laws that apply to actual public speech don't apply to a private platform, although they should.
the government has been lenient so far, trying not to step on anyone's right to free speech, but they have never had a spoiled rich man-child with very little self control in charge of a major platform before. exceptional stupidity, exceptional racism, exceptional misinformation intentionally spread, requires exceptional responses.
i doubt the government will have to do much to moderate twitter, or muck, though. his own ineptitude will remove any potential threat as he continues to make bad choice after bad choice, as his self driving cars fail to materialize, as his brain chip continues to not be approved for clinical trials, as he continues to run his mouth, removing all doubt about his fascist fantasies...his fan bois are waking up and abandoning him, his potential investors are slamming their checkbooks closed in his face, advertisers are abandoning his racist, misogynist, bigoted businesses, truck drivers, and more importantly, the owners of large trucking companies, have very little interest in his E semis, tesla is losing traction as more affordable, better designed, more attractive E vehicles are coming into the market...the world looks bright, for the rest of us

There is nothing they can do with the Republicans running interference because they rely on the propaganda to maintain their power.

But free speech through a social media platform, got us J6 and the ability to coordinate an attack on our government which is treason. Don't let the fact that he was a Lame Duck with 15 days to go, clinging to power, stop us from moving forward with accountability.

Twitter potentiated insurrection and treason by delivering it to a free people- there's something much bigger here at play.

no...i don't think that is what got us where we are today, we were way the fuck down this path before social media even existed...it just accelerated what was already happening.
taking the soap box away from the fruitloops doesn't make them go away, it just makes them fade back into the shadows, where they are stronger, and harder to observe.
there does have to be moderation, open threats and harmful disinformation, bullying and doxing can't be tolerated, but if they stay within the set guidelines, you have to tolerate them, and it offers opportunities for law enforcement to identify the craziest, the most dangerous, and watch them closely.

why is this a politically charged story? this is an internal struggle at twitter that had nothing to do with reality, the governments handling of the situation, or the presses handling of the situation...so this is about how twitter was run by douchebags, and apparently still is?...that's not news, captain fucking obvious...
the less the laptop matters, the louder they’ll get. With a nod to Douglas Adams, it’s how the Republican Improbability Drive operates.

they don't seem to know that there is a thing called irony...they picked the most crooked fuck in the entire country to lead their party, and they're concerned that the son of the current president may have made a shady deal or two?
if he did, he'll pay the price for it...BUT...that leaves them open for swift, brutal retaliation. for every minute they spend investigating hunter biden, a republican should be investigated, and the results made public, volubly.
how many republicans can stand a real investigation? how many give each other stock "tips"? how many use their influence for their personal gain? how many have engaged in nepotism? how many are involved in white nationalism? how many have had affairs? how many suck corporate dick in one way or another? Let's find out! :)

It’s a simple fact that Don Jr. is a bigger crook and a bigger drug user than Hunter ever was. Republican inattention to the simple fact sorta says it all.

Not that I disagree with that possibility, but I'm wondering what evidence you have which makes this a fact?

1) the laptop controversy is a fabrication
2) they both like the yayo
3) only one of them got paid by That Man’s criminal organization now under investigation in NYC.

need more?
1. Which part is fabricated?
2. I'm sure they do, but what fact shows that Jr likes it more?
3. And only one got paid $11 million by the money laundering organization, Burisma.

1) broken chain of custody, so its evidentiary value is zero
2) baby orange was portrayed as a massive consumer, but my ignorance there is exceeded only by my apathy. Distinct from likes it more
3) unlike baby orange, wrongdoing not established in Burisma case
