Ok so this is my journal. First time growing and its goin alright. dont seem to be going as fast as other grows i have seen on here but its comin along. Ima just start with all the pics i have then come back later and fill in info.

ok so here are all the pics i have to this point. not sure how far along they are i didnt keep track. i would say prolly 2-3 weeks. i think i stretched them when germinating but oops. learn from the first grow. all the pics go in order from pullin them out from germination to the present and i will update with pics as it goes along. I dont know what it is but the leaves dont seem as big as other ppls plants that are about this old. any comments good or bad are welcome. help is greatly needed. dont comment yet saying give us more specs on the grow. i will do that in a couple hours. i seems to have come down with a cold and have no energy to write that out yet. so im off to a nap then will write up the specks on everything.

ok so i got some questions on some of them as well. these are some of the pics from above but i have highlighted in red rings what im worried about.
.
.
.
Ok so pic 1 and 2 are showing how yellow the first set of leaves are. they are the round ones that show up b4 any other leaf on the plant. they have turned real yellow on 2 of the 3 plants. Im not to worried about it cuz i see in most grows i have seen ppl say dont worry about the leaves turning yellow early on. but im just checkin.
.
.
.
Pic 3 is my what i think to be my healthiest plant. Except for the fact that it the complete plant has gone real light green to yellowish green color. it has also started getting little brown spots on some of the leaves. i will show these in a sec.
.
.
.
4th up is my retard plant as i call it. lol. its the one that in the first set of pics is out the cup and looks real weak and retarded. not sure what caused this but its starting to come back around except this curved leaf on it. it has been the same way since sprout. the leaf just kinda curls up. what causes this.
.
.
.
5 and 6 are some of the brown spots. they dont realy come out on the pics but its kinda all i could do. its mainly the end of the leaves where it turns a dark color kinda brown but not exactly. this is only happening on the 1 plant tho. Also on this same plant the veins have kinda started to get a lil bit darker.
.
.
.
7 is where they had just come out of sprouting. I just want to check im perty sure this is what everyone means by streching a plant but wanted to check. realize this is one them red plastic cups. the normal size like beer pong cups filled almost half way with dirt. the head of the plant is up over the rim of the cup. this happend in 3 days. I was gone for thanksgiving and came home to this and was kinda upset.

in the stage of growing you shouldnt have no yellowniss happening this is prolly being caused from your ph levels..

answer some of these and people can help you...

whats your grow room condition how hot? etc...??
are you giving them nutes???
whats your ph levels?
how many watts are you using?
and how close to the tops of your plant?

your gonna wanna keep track of your plant or youll get lost on when you last fed it and others details...
also a good thing to do is fill your cups with dirt to the top i use 12oz cups for first 2 weeks that will also help your plant look smaller burry below the first leaves...

just by looking i can give you some constructive critisism. First the one plant looks pretty good like the fifth picture in. You need some perlite in that soil its not gonna dry out as fast as you like and those roots need oxygen. and it helps water all the way threw the root zone. its cheap and you can mix it with whatever soil you want.. I specificaly use MG organic for its supply of supplimenting nutes.. 9 dollars a bag fills six pots.. Try not to flood them when you water. Mist them three or four times a day nice and heavy. Get a fan on them to help them dance and strengthen your stem. Fox farm has great soil and nutes try advancenutrients there good too. 4 inches is the golden rule for CFL as told in the buds for less book. closer is ok experiment its not a bad thing. Just kinda try to remember its easy and hard to kill lol...na man do you its not hard just pay some attention to them and read a couple books its an easy concept to grasp... step one step two step three repeat... Looks good other wise check some things and keep going

Ok so here are some specs. for this grow i am using MG organic soil. Its straigh out the bag nothing added nothing taken out. lol. I dont have the money for a ph meter at the moment. i am in school and have no job. but i will get one when i get the money. i started with of the 100w cfl. thats the watt it says its compairable to not what its actualy using. i now have 5 of them on the 3 plants. they are about 3-4 inches away. I have a very strong computer fan sitting about 1.5-2 feet away blowing them. i put it that far away cuz it seems any closer was goin to harm them and had them swaying around ALOT. this gives them some movement but not to much. using MG nutes but at half the strength of what the box says. temp ranges from 80-85. i usualy keep the lights on for like 20 hours and off for 4. that dosnt happen all the time tho. most the time its on 24 hours straight.
.
I thought misting the plants was actualy bad cuz then it enhances the heat from the light or somethin. when i started growing them i misted them for like 2 or 3 days but found someone said it was bad and stoped.

if were looking at the same 5th pic in thats my retard plant. its the same one as in the lower pic that has the curved leaf. its lookin better than it did in that first pic. also where can i get perlite. i havnt found any at home depot or lowes.

Your "Retard" plant is probably male~ Air circulation is probably your problem, a friend of mine built a growbox that didn't get enough air flow and most of the plants started in it looked like those. IMO just keep your best ones the closest to the lights so you can get them big enough to take clones and work from clones. You can make a bubble bucket for rooting for less than $10. Just keep at it man, GL~

ok dude stop feeding your plant nutes wait till there about 2 weeks especially if your using MG soil they have nutes in the soil last about 2-4 waterings or 1-2 weeks.. the browning on the leavs is most likely nute burn.. the yellowniss is prolly due to your ph levels.. check your ph levels get those fixed and stop feeding your plant nutes untill its about 2-3 weeks old also pc fans are kinda small depending on your space you may need more fans dont worry about the air blowing on your plants makes the stem stronger

the plants are at least 2 weeks old. and they are just on the floor in my room not in a box that needs air flow.

So this is the box i want to build. seems like it should work out. it is a tv. stand that im building and should b kinda stealth. it will have 3 compartments in it. top one will be used for germinating seeds and gettin them rooted. or to put clones in and get them rooted. then one side will be for vegging plants and the other side for flowering. there will be a free flow into the box and fans to push air out the carbon filters. the box is 5 foot tall by 4 foot wide and 2 feet deep. let me know what you think. ima be using cfl's and will be ajustable.

well cut back on the nutes check our ph check if the fresh air flow is good.. make sure you using nutes with high N number in your NPK like 10-3-3 or 30-15-15 .nitrogen is whats your plant likes in vegg growth keeps them green..

when flowering swtich to a high "P" phosphorus number like 1-10-3...

well if you got your own plans do them up.. your eyes see the real size of things in your space. if your space can fit that do it..

wow, that's your plant at 2 weeks..
dude, you really need to get a fan..
that's the main thing in growing marijuana..
a long with other main components..

get those CFL's 1-2" away from the top of your plant..
& by the way, the pictures you circled, of the cotes..
don't worry about those..
those dry & die off eventually in the phase..
yours just kind of died a little too early..
also, like most people said.. lay off on the nutes..
& or don't heavily water your plants.. they're still small..
give them a little bit of water at a time..
& only water by the stem, so they have enough & not enough..

get a pH tester & make sure your soil is not cold..
make sure it's warm.. do you know your growing temp/humidity?
that's also important..

hope you get this squared away & good luck with your grow :D

my nutes are 24-18-16 for veg. then the nutes i got for flowering is 15-30-15. got the nutes now goin at half recomendation. o and i forgot i did add a little bit of molassas to the water. but i guess i will do what yall recomend and use just plain water. i need to get some more money for a ph tester.

hey cotton...imo u need to get that temp down below 85 try to get it to 75..below the fan on the lights...also ur put look like they need some epsom salt 2 tsp per gal..they use alot of this and if the soil dont have (mg dont) what it needs they can look yellow..it wont hurt give it a shot..good luck peace

k im sorry and dont wanna sound mean but can u reword that. its a lil hard to understand. i got that i should put a fan on the lights to get the temp down to about 75 and i need to put 2 tsp epsom salt in something. i dont understand anything afterepsom salt or where to put it.

It's not so much the temp as it is air flow. You'll be surprised how much thicker your stalk will be from keeping constant air flow on them.

ok so here are pics from today. since puttin the fan on them and adding the 2 extra lights these things have exploded. the yellowness and the spots when away overnight. verry happy to see this happening. i need to water today. im goin to just use the water and molassas. onto the pics.
.
.
pics 1,3, and 5 are the plant that was yellow and spotted. its all gone now
