Radishes under 120w HGL QB288

Bought this for Dawg's solo cup comp in 2018 or 2019. Lately I am using it to grow radishes with excellent results, starting a new tray every 2 weeks. They like a hot soil similar to cannabis. They start out 17" from the light then finish about 14" from the light. With a good soil mix its water till harvest with a couple of Epson salt waterings. These are done in less than 30 days from seed. Excellent flavor.
I'll show the results when these are done in about a week. Seeds were dropped in soil May 10th.

I harvested today after 26 days from seed. A few days sooner than I intended but they should be fine. .65 pounds, enough for 2 people for two weeks till next harvest. I always have a couple of runts that get blocked by the other plants leaves so I'm going to try 10 per tray to give them some more space. The soil gets leached then thrown in a barrel to eventually be re amended. 1st time I weighed them; I'll be shooting for bout a pound in the future.
Happy Growing!

I keep running into the need to water occasionally with Epsom salt, if not I run into a Mg deficiency in the leaves. I noticed the Happy Frog 4-5-3 I'm using doesn't have Mg in the analysis. I sent in a sample of my soil to Soil Savvy for testing. Should get the results by Friday. The soil has been re amended several times. I've got enough soil for my next cannabis grow that has been leached from the last grow and is waiting to be amended.

Here was the recipe of last batch made that I'm using for the radishes. There are other things I like to add when I have them in stock.

Base is 12 Gallons of leached soil.

2 cups Dolomite Lime.
2 cups Happy Frog 4-5-3
1 1/2 cups langbenite
2 gallons Perlite
1 1/2 cups vermiculite
2 gallons peat moss
2 gallons EWC

I'll be curious to see the test results, looking back maybe a 1/2 cup less lime IDK.

I was able to catch the beginning of a mg deficiency in one large leaf. Hard to see without zooming in.

Shouldn't you be getting plenty of mag from the Dolomite?
What is your process for leaching your soil before reuse?

After the last Cannabis grow I took the pots outside and ran water through to remove the buildup, I run about 15 gals of water through 5 gals of soil. I find there is a buildup (salt build up?) if I go more than 2 grows without leaching.
I agree there is a lot of mg in the dolomite. I'll be curious what the soil test shows.

I ran a soil for about 15 Cannabis grows (5 years) once before giving up on it. I have the results from having it tested at the end before spreading it in the yard, and it had extreme amounts of calcium and sulfur. I want to see if the test I just sent out might have an abundance of calcium that could be antagonizing the mg.

I too am very interested in soil test results and also how ppm's on a soil test correlate to a hydroponic nutrient solution.
The last tests I had done on soil I had in beds that was producing great plants was so far off of where ratio's would be for a typical nutrient solution that is has me scratching my head.

Here is the soil test from 2021 of the soil I ran for about 6 years. The 2nd to last grow with that soil was in my signature, Homebrewer called it an excellent grow at the time.
