White dots on curing nuggets :(

So super bummed. I did brown bag drying till they stayed at 55% humidity, then put in flip lid jar big enough for my large calculator size hygrometer to fit in with the bud. kept burping almost twice a day in 52-58% humidity room. Once the hygrometer quit climbing beyond 58%, I put them in more air tight jars....which I guess is my down fall. I still burped them once a day - sometimes in my car with full blown AC with hygrometer showing 29-40% humidity in the car. Man I fucking tried my damnedest. Just goes to show when harvest come around - either have the equipment for a perfect dry/cure or tell every priority in life to fuck off for 2 weeks to properly babysit it

TLDR: white spots on various nugs, smells GREAT and earthy but white dots nonetheless. What can I do? can I cook it down into butter?

EDIT: based on this "perfect cure" thread, maybe my hygrometer is off. because mine said 55% and the stems still bent well but did not even feel like the outer layer of the stem was snapping when being bent. ugh fml, gonna have to change the yoda in my avatar to Jar Jar Binks lol

Spider mites
you think so??? from an indoor grow that didn't show any mites? mind I chopped this I think...2 weeks ago - looked and smelled great. Then 2 days ago I thought I noticed something...then today with those pics its undeniable. I've read many people have washed their "moldy" or w/e bud during cure by submerging it in clean filtered water, rinse and replace the water everyday for like 1-2 weeks. Weed looked like swag after the following drying, but they say smoked great. Considering that as a possible option.

Could be mold. I wouldn't smoke it. Even if washed. But the extent of time in the water you're talking about is a water cure. I still wouldn't smoke it.

I hear you...and I was ready to throw it in the trash, but thought I'd try to find a remedy. I grow for personal, I'm on a tight AF budget, and NEED pot to not lose my cool at work etc. I do have another whole jar that's good, but it won't last but month or 2.

So if I can figure a way to salvage these nuggets that will be monumental for my poverty ass.

You need to study up on some mycology, help you offset your smoke and reset your mind.

This part aint hard the closer to 60/60 you are, the jar window can be as wide as a day or two. Caliber hygro meters are always accurate, they can be off of couse but theyre pretty good. I havent calibrated since I got mine and can tell theyre on point as they all read the same temp/rh when side by side.

So once its well below 64rh but above 55 something like 60rh is good to jar. They key is making sure no excess moisture because burping isnt really needed. In fact I try my best not to even open jar for at least two weeks to cure. If its a strain I know wont cure well Id try 3 wks to make it smooth as possible.

Because if you burp during those two weeks your disturbing the bacteria on the buds responsible for curing. Its a process of bateria naturally present on your buds eating the chlorophyl and leaving behind the good. Speaking of which Yeast is amoungst those bacteria.

Yeast is bad, I think Ive witnissed it grow on my trim I left sitting around too long. That and all the right enviorment created yellowish whitish chunks all over it like dots and chunks. This why I dont like flower and trim. Im extracts only its more appealing to me its clean and long shelf life, things like I mentioned dont effect extracts.

The fuzz can be mold but Ive seen it on buds that had no mold and people even agreeing it wasnt mold. For that idk, if you are sure it didnt have any at harvest then should be good to go. If it dried like I do, de nugged on a dry herbs shelf not overloaded with wet buds so they can breathe.. Shouldnt grow mold. I dry in a tent with exaust fan on low, thats it but I dont pass 60rh or for long.

Sorry this happened to ya but yea things will happen in this hobby. More often than not things like this didnt happen to me so try to have some hope for future grows. It is a bummer.

I got a nice trick that is just so happens to line up with curing being flower rosin only. The time to jar it is the same as when to press it since theres no access moisture. If dry enough it wont pop or click when dabbing it rather normal or cold start. I always do cold start.

So when it doesnt make any noise but sizzling its ready to jar for sure no if ands or butts. No burping needed. If youre burping for excess moisture its too soon to jar and these things can happen if your letting it that way by jarring too soon. Thats hell on the buds, like, count on seeing mold if you keep doing that type thing.

When people burp jars they may do it for similar reasons but not because it really is too soon to jar. Or maybe it is, shit lol. This hobby conflicting sometimes.

just smoke it, if ain't good then stop.

My roommate was like "man fuck those white dots, still smells good to me!" Lol

Here's some additional pics. Internally looks good. Mind I let them sit out all night. It really does seem just concentrated in spots. I appreciate the positive support! Already got 2 girls going in another grow journal.

Its surpisingly easy to convince people to consume your home grown. Hell no convincing needed really they just like damn let me get that. They ask again moments later.. Like Ey, Im serious! lol.. Its like trusting someone else with your life and crazy how people just think its fine.

You as the grower is your job to make sure like yup no mold, yeast, pesticides etc.. Nothing but pure home grown baby. It took some years to get there. Yeast you dont know unless its visually overgrown otherwise it could be invisible. Still safer than store bought tho they sure as hell aint doing nothing about that.

There is most definitely mold along the stem in pics 2 and 3. Looks like a lot of dead (as in dead prior to harvest) calyxes in pics 3, 4, and 5, too.

I've been there before unfortunately. It always shows up in the last couple weeks and starts deep inside the buds so you don't notice how bad it is until after you harvest. Nowadays I pry open all my colas to check along the stem, in the days leading up to and right after harvesting, even if they look okay externally.

If it were mine I'd toss...
