Only thing iam giving up is wasting my time growing trees that rot out 3 weeks before they are done. Shit last yr after contacting an talking with Vashon I went with his early bird they told me it was mold proof an most phenos were done mid sept LOL well the 3th week in oct they turned to mush overnight an they still had at least 3 more weeks to go. So the way i see it really not giving up any thing other than beating my self up trying to grow trees in the ground.

So, you have experience and cannot grow outdoors. Why keep trying? You could grow in pots and bring them into an enclosed, or covered area every night, but that's a lot of work and dedication. The sunshine might be worth the effort. I wouldn't trust anyone that says, "this plant finishes early." It's a sales gimmick. I've tried them before and it's a lie. I'm in an area that gets heavy fog in Oct. sometimes, and those varieties don't finish early. They're like usual.

I've had plants reliably finish mid to late Sept. in OKlahoma outdoors. Its not that uncommon. They were photo period, not autos.

The climate is changing fast here what worked 10 yrs ago does not work anymore, By the way if you looked at one of my pictures you would see I grow in a 20-30 hoophouse thats gets covered each yr with plenty of fans.?

The climate is changing fast here what worked 10 yrs ago does not work anymore, By the way if you looked at one of my pictures you would see I grow in a 20-30 hoophouse thats gets covered each yr with plenty of fans.?

Everyone has a opinion and it is based on their experience quite often it is narrow.
A lot has to do with the environment the plants grow in, I an fairly sure in my garden I have a micro climate that gives me an advantage others don't have. I could water for two days and the ground would never get water logged or flood, I am on a sand pit that was excavated and used to build NYC.
Trees are great but they do have down sides had to manage and inspect a 15 foot tall plant on a slope. But PTK is in the 12 foot range at moment no real start of flowering. I have a plague of lantern flies and the vacuum I was using to get them was rolled into a 1/2 drum of water by the raccoon.
So we often have issues other don't in our quest for a good burn. You can lean a bit from others but following exactly what they do just might not work. You need to understand your issues and provide a method to correct them.
The environment is changing I used to lobster in the LI Sound now any decent lobster are found north of Cape Cod.

I think my biggest problem is climate, An i cash crop in a tight market so cutting a couple weeks early is worthless to me other than head stash. I told myself last yr no more inground plants old habits are tough to break LOL Still holding my breath on the crippys doing a little breeding with a few things.
