Budrot

So the budrot got me to eventually. This is an auto in week 12 from seed. Its mature enough to be chopped but I wanted to let the lower bud sites become more mature before being chopped. But now I have discovered the plant has indeed budrot. I have only found it on one of the buds so far. I removed the moldy part and it seemed like fresh green plant tissue underneath after I removed the moldy part. And now I have decided to chop it today due to I want to try and minimize the damage. The high RH is the culprit. I have been on 70-75 nearly constantly. But my question is if you could saftely smoke it if you remove the moldy parts. I am fully aware I will most likely see other buds with rot aswell during trimming. But I really wanted to smoke it..

I would toss and fix the root cause which takes time or it may just keep happening especially with that rh. Spores are dusted all over the place in unimaginable amounts. If you get that into your lungs and one germinates, the solutions are not pretty. Could involve amputation etc.

I solved it by putting 280w dehuey for every 50 square foot for about two nice sized tents. My tents are 2.5x5 that are 6.5 ft tall. A 2.5x2.5 and a 3x3 thats 6 ft tall but exaust fan outside on top of tent.

Boxfans above bar lights inside for maximum space and its softer on plants. Shallow canopy with defol so you can see the ground thru canopy easily thru out the plant. This allows some leeway so you can reach as high as 55rh briefly daily so far I found.

The less packed the tents the easier it is to pull off but the less reward. I started smaller and worked larger. Im 3 runs past that since I had budrot but also got powdery mildew which is also bad.

It works for PM infact thats the easiest to avoid, rh doesnt really cause it unless leafs overlap and gutate but usually get lucky with that. It just stops gutating later on in flower even if leafs overlap.

So Id get rh as low as possible I love 30-45rh no higher but it happens. My portable ac in summer time and even home ac despite the way they work, they spike my rh. In winter I just blow air inside from outside thats like 10F and my room/tents are 35rh and 75F, higher if I want it.

So you mean I should discard the hole plant?? In normal conditions I have a pretty good control over the RH. But since that was planted outside I had not control. I just got it inside the tent a few days ago

My whole grow is setup that way. My veg space, even my seedling/mini clone mini tent has fans pointed at them from above. Just basic lollipop and defoliation. Some thinning of wispy branches that wont mount to much. Then pluck some selective leafs here and there and prop up colas that are laying over eachother.

If the pheno is sativa leggy just let it spread out similarly still trying to lollipop, etc.

I thought this was indoors, is it not? Either was yes I would toss. This a major reason I do indoors so you can control that. People do just cut discard and consume the rest but its your risk.

A major reason I grow my own as even tho legal Im sure dispensaries try to get away with it too outdoors maybe even indoors too. A wild west green rush right now.

By the way idk if your saying you brought inside from outside literally but if you did you dont want that either. Bringing a plant inside from outside can bring pests and disease. Spider mites and thrips can shut down a whole grow.

Thanks. Yes I brought it inside due to the high RH outside. I will bin this one and start over.. i came home from work and discovered that the rot has spread.. this fucking sucks..

It does suck but glad I did the right thing and started over. I had to cut back 4x my daily limit to stay self provided. I tossed a pound between two plants about as far as yours 9 wks full. Then powdery mildew got the rest that were half way done. 5 plants at the time.

Whats nice about being perpetual I was able to flip some veg plants I had ready that PM didnt claim. It needed a nice big fan to start out with so PM dont get those.

You get used to it but it will always hurt but at least I found a way to confidently keep going. If I get it again Il have a sad moment but just toss the whole tent and try again. It wont be as bad knowing I got 3 whole runs in and to just learn from how it happened.

My plants were full size in no time. I had a large clone ready to flip that pushed me into the 6oz range already. So I was able to do 7-8oz easy. Thats a good thing about having tents broken down into single or double plant tents. So it dont contaminate a whole 5x5 just half of it in 2.5x5 or one plant tent.

Thats just outdoors tho and why I dont do it. My environment sucks outdoors. The best places I see to grow tend to be exotic far away foreign places in mountains where its always windy and low humidity. My area is known to be very tough to grow outdoors.

You got a nice set up. What did it all cost?
