I must be doing something wrong. This is just a little over 3 weeks growth. The plant is a yellowish-green color, the tips are burning and I've lost two of the smaller leaves. I am using the VGrow system. I have watered twice using 1mm/gallon of both Base A(4-0-1) and Base B(1-4-2). I have the light programmed to Seedling.

Even if you are running her like a hydroponic grow, you should have some perlite in that media. Those roots need O2. Are you at least running a bubbler for your nutes? Your roots are drowning. Pull her out, mix in some perlite in that coco coir and add a little more nitrogen heavy nutrients. Or keep going, sacrifice a chicken at midnight, and cross your fingers. About a pound.

Coco and autopots can produce unhappy plants but thats just me. Youd need to keep feeding from the top to flush out salts and clearly its not being watered properly. Idk if its due to cutting the water system off and on to dryback but even if it was saturated.. Its going to keep accumilating salts.

I looked at the vivosun grow system base A and B if thats what you meant. You should be in the veg state dose of nutrients right now. Seedlings in coco only need a week of light feed and I dont even do that. It doesnt happen in nature and doesnt do me wrong to just feed full strength from start.

Then the rest on that chart is their way of selling nonsense. I just use maxibloom from start to finish no calmag. No boosters or this and that. Id do drain to waste coco, feed from top once a day or twice if its drying out. I do 3x a day due to that in seedling/clone/veg. That plant should be much better than this, much larger and healthier.

It can bounce back if you just drain to waste coco it or at least let it dryback right. Ok so I looked up the method and yea its not an easy one. I think you were supposed to top water for the first few weeks anyway which Ive seen before. The system needs an oxygen pump, you have one?

Its just gonna sit in water and become water logged at the bottom. The dry back it does helps, I didnt really know they did that. Shoot I been doing dtw coco (drain to waste) for 3 years it was easy learning curve and fun since day one. Even I think its a curve ball to use autopots. Might be better off with just dtw coco.

Ive seen people just not fix an issue in autopots, had to babysit them and flush from top and still struggle. Rarely there will be people that ask for help with dtw coco and we cant figure out why they are in a similar situation. It happens but rare. People usually get drunk off how easy and fun it is managing explosive growth no rabbit holes needed.

I was that way. It took a few years to get the hang of it and theres still more to learn but not a ice berg. Theres no where to push the salts away so I dont get the point of it. I basically am an autopot I just use drain to waste system and it has its babysit needing moments. Idk how long it takes to flush 6 plants tho and which is worse.

You’re basically trying to run hydro in a SIP, and while some manage to pull it off it is one of the hardest methods to grow. If you want to use the self watering bases I would recommend a soil mix as specified in the Vivosun instructions. It does say you can use a potting mix with coco, but not plain coco. Read up some on self irrigating planters, that’s what you’re using, it will shed a lot of light on what’s going wrong. Like never put nutes in the reservoir for one, and never use plain coco. If you’d like to switch to plain coco and perlite then water multiple times a day with nute solution as per the above suggestions and ditch the self watering bit.

if your looking for an easier method as mentioned above,a soil mix is much easier for starts. I'd recommend a living soil mix, with about 10-20 percent Coco coir.

Those plants are going to die soon, how many watts is your VGrow system? your plants look overwatered because some fungus is growing over the coco medium.

You said "1mm/gallon of both Base A(4-0-1) and Base B(1-4-2)" that's clearly not enough nutrient dose for vegging plants, your plants aren't seedlings anymore, they need more light and more nutrients, and also less watering, let the coco dry a little bit between waterings.

Coco should be considered "hydroponics" so you need to check your PH and TDS.

I'm not a coco expert because I don't like hydro (I'm not a slave of my plants) I grow in amended sphagnum moss of excellent quality with perlite, it's buffered so I don't need to check PH, only give to my plants a steady flow of water and NPK in the right dose, right ratio, etc.

Here i leave a couple of pictures of my photoperiod plants, they are growing so healthy and vigorously that soon I will have to do something to control their height, I will top them soon.

Its true, you can ovwrwater coco. It leads to well fed growth like dark leafs. But worstly it can increase root pressure and gutate on leafs and buds which causes powdery mildew and budrot. It happened to me. Almost happened again because I was putting bags around the pots to slow dryback, big no-no.

How special for you.
You might consider starting your own thread if you want to show off your plants.
You can't help only talking, I'm a grower and I have stuff to show, if you take your head out of your butt and learn proper gardening practices you will be far more successful than before.

I never believed the cannabis forum myths and false claims, so after listening all of them I discarded everything, I went to a library and got several books on gardening and botany.

Now I can grow any type of plant without problems.

Light (ppfd), water (H2O), air (CO2 and Oxygen) and proper medium for the roots it's all plants need.
