Yeah, the girls are still doing good. I'm a little behind schedule since I was supposed to take clones a month ago and get these chicas flowering. To say that I'm a procrastinator would be an understatement. We're now at day 85 and I'm finally finishing upgrading some electrical work needed before plugging in the 250.

The plan is (once the electrical is done) to take 2 clones from each plant hoping for a 50% survival rate. I'd like to leave myself with 1 clone per plant. I'll move all the mothers into 2 gallon pots over on the other side of my grow closet and flower them out under the 250W HPS. I have 2 square ft on each side so 5 plants per flower cycle is about max capacity but perfect for the 250. After harvest the highest, best tasting clones will be determined and chosen to repopulate the planet. At least my little corner of it.

That being said, I'll post again soon once I've made some progress and taken more pics.

And we're back!

Took 10 clones two nights ago and they're still doing well. I split the ends, shaved that first layer of "skin," dipped them in rooting hormone and stuck them in rockwool cubes. The rooting hormone I used was Rootech Gel. I've been told recently that powders work better but I already had the gel so that's what I used. My clone dome is actually the plastic remnants of a delicious tuxedo cake I bought at the supermarket. The dome under the CFLs keeps the humidity somewhere between 70 and 80% with the relative humidity outside the closet about 35%. I spray inside the dome 3 times a day with 2 tsp hygrozyme and 1/4 tsp liquid karma mixed in a gallon of spring water.

After taking clones I transplanted all the mothers over to 2 gallon square pots and placed them in the flowering side of my closet. It's really designed for 4 plants but I have 5 so we'll see how it goes. The area is about 24" by 22" and is lit by a 250W HPS.

I'm planning on removing all leaves from the bottom 1/3 of each plant but I'm waiting to see how they stretch out first. None have been topped because I'm hoping for a few big colas but if they get too tall I'll have to. It's my own fault for letting them veg for so long. Time will tell.

Careful with the humidity dome and the clones in rockwool. The dome can keep them too wet and cause stem to rot.

That's good to know. I've been nervous about the rockwool for that reason. I keep checking it for algae and stuff. I heat my place with forced air and a wood stove so conditions are about as dry as can be. So far so good but this is my first time cloning so I don't really know what to expect.

You should be fine man, just watch for signs of rooting. If they continue to look stressed, check for stem rot. If the stems are rotting just re-cut them and you know you had your rockwool a little too wet this time around. H202 helps too.

I have some H2O2, the 2% topical. Will that work alright or should I get horticultural grade???

I was in the hydro store today reading the label on the horticultural grade H2O2 (35%) and they tell you to dilute it to 3% before mixing into your solution. Isn't that pretty much the same as just using the 2% topical?

Not really all I know is I use 10ml/L of 35% sometimes more. The problem with using 3% is not referring to rockwool. It refers the the additional dilution that occurs when you add H202 to a hydroponic nutrient reservior.

So 3% will work fine for your needs, did you give them a dark period after you took the cuttings?

Helps reduce stress and promotes faster rooting. 6-8 hours of dark if conditions are right the clones will never wilt. You can root clones much faster by doing this.

Damn, I'll have to remember that for next time. It's been almost 5 days now and they're all still alive so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. No yellow leaves yet and not too wilty. I'll try and post more pics tomorrow.

Finally got computer back up. Took out a gig of ram and now it works fine. Don't ask me why.

Well, I've been out almost two months now. All the Crimea Blue's are still doing fine. I let them veg too long and the grew into the light, had to tie them back. This messed with the ventilation of the cabinet which stressed them out a bit but they're still alive and still flowered. Learned some good lessons for the next grow. The trichs are about 50% amber. I'm planning on harvesting this weekend.

The clones I took did great! One plant had no surviving clones but all of the others did. I kept one healthy clone from each of the other four plants and they're doing magnificently. After harvest, I'll pick the best and veg it out as a mother and flower the others to keep everything more or less perpetual.

One more note on the Crimea Blue buds. They smell amazing!!!! Not skunky but much more floral. Kind of lemony. Actually it reminds me of a lemon scented geranium. Very exciting!!!!

My camera needs a new battery but I'll try and get some pics up before and after harvest. Man, it's nice to have a computer again!!!

Yeah I get butterflies every time a take a whiff! I won't even have to smoke the stuff, the smell alone is so intoxicating.

They're now at 53 days into flower. Most of the hairs are still white but the trichs are about 50% amber. I've been flushing this past week with clearex and many of the leaves are now yellow. I'm gonna give them a few more days to amber up and hopefully chop em down on sunday or monday but I'll give them as much time as they need. When did you cut your Crimea Blues?

I wish I could have kept a better grow journal but my computer's on the fritz and I won't be getting a new one anytime soon. I occasionally go on RIU at work but I never log in because I'm super paranoid.

my first one I chopped at 61 days, my last ones I let go for 68 days. The extra week is very noticable as far as the high, waaaay more potent. The shit just plain fucks me up, for a while too.
