im no scientist .. but i THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT MOLASSES IS BASICALLY PURE SUGAR THAT IS WATER SOLUABLE. AND I THINK SUGAR ALONG WITH THE NUTES REALLY HELPS OUT THE PHOTOSYNTHSIS ETC.. ITS ALL CONECTED BUT ITS JUST ANOTHER BUD ENHANCER/HARDENER .. YOU WOULD REALLY BENIFIT SINCE YOUR PROBABLY KEYED IN ON ALL OTHER ASPECTS AFTER 15 YEARS.. WHEN USED RIGHT IT BLOWS UP THE BUDS.. TRY IT WITH HUMBOLT GRAVITY

Molasses, corn syrup, sugar stimulate chlorophyll formation in plants and help feed the good soil bacteria.
I've used it for many years on outdoor gardens as well. Tomatoes veggies etc.

Molasses has a few beneficial nutrients, a lot of potassium. Also as mentioned above the sugars are good for your plant as well. Aslo as mentioned above it dissolves easily so you can just add it to your water and stir :P

I am not impressed with mollases. It does help if you cant get anything else but only so much. I grow in waterfarms and mollases clogs stuff up. I prefer Technaflora SugarDaddy. It has sugar plus a lot of other beneficial stuff. So does Botanicare Sweet. With SugarDaddy you noticeably see your buds swell and collect more trichs. Some swear by Mollases. Ive tried Mollases, Sweet and SugarDaddy and I swear by SugarDaddy its good stuff!

dont use mollasses if your a hydro guy. you will get root rot and you will just gunk up your setup. AN has some good stuff. sugar daddy is made for hydro systems and will does the same as molasses. molasses is only a good supplement for soil grows. Its high in potassium, has alot of magnesium, and is also good for calcium, sulpher, and some other stuff that escapes me right now. check out http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/items.asp?Cc=AN&iTpStatus=0&Tp=&Bc=

I must disagree. I went to my hydro store to by sum flora necter but i wanted the gallon size and it was 55 dollars. the salesman showed me the back of the bottle which has the formula and the ratios. It was Molases, cane sugar and malt extract. I bought the ingredients at wholefoods (i couldnt find the extract but it was only a small percentage of the formula) and I made my own mix for a tenth of the price. Flora necter works in hydro, you just have to make sure you change the rez once a week. Also I am using ebb and flow so I don't really have any lines to clog. Flora necter is comparable to Sweet or Sugar Daddy. Sugar is good for plants in hydro or soil.:-P

ebb and flow is the exception with hydro, but for any DWC, bubbleponics, aeroponics you dont want to use regualr mollases. how much per gallon are you using?

Why hasn't anyone mentioned to NOT get sulphured molasses makes sure it's unsulphured. I believe sulphur is bad for the plant during flowering. I even use molasses during my flushing. I love it

How long would you add molasses or sugar for? If im on my last week or so of flower would I benefit from adding some sugar to my water?

I've been using molasses since the first week of flower. Most people recommend starting the third week in. I'm not planning on using it my last couple waterings during my leech, dont think it would make much of a difference for you now.

actually the plants need sulphur, but you can definitely overdose them on it

yeah the plants do need some sulpher but you can get that from epsom salts also.

i use blackstrap molasses, but i would use a little less than a little more if you are using it through out flowering. its high and potassium and magnesium and you want to make sure that you dont lock out other nutes. i had previously been using throughout flower but i think this time i am going to only use for about the last 3-4 weeks and see how the results compare.

First & last additive used during entire grow is molasses. It accelerates the microbes to help cover roots with pest fighting attacks, and the plant loves it, plus helps to breakdown nutes for better, balanced feeding. Chems kill this effect.
