Quick question for Blueberry (Dutch Passion) growers

Im currently in week 5 of flowering, during which week do you flush your plants when growing Blueberry (Dutch Passion)

I would say wait until atleast week 8 with Dutch Passion's Blueberry. I think that strain takes 8 to 10 weeks to flower. Then flush for 1 full week using distilled water.

It all just depends on how far along your plants are. Got any pics?

Take some close-up picture of a few of the main cola's. If your camera has it, use the "macro" setting. At a distance the plants look pretty far along but I cant really tell that far away. What would you say the percentage of red haird are? 50%-80%?

I tried my best to adjust to the correct settings on order to take close ups (macro modes) & here are the results, I cant take photos at all so forgive me.

Looks like you still have a ways to go. I would say atleast 2 or 3 more weeks then start to flush. Just keep an eye on the amount of read/brown hairs. When you think about 70% of them are red/brown, then I'd start flushing for 1 week.

Oh yeah if you turn off your plants growing lights, then take your pictures using "macro" setting and "Flash on". They will come threw alot clearer and you wont have that orange ting in all the photo backgrounds.

I was going to do that today but I got sucked into watchign "The Apprentice" he he he.
If I 5-10 mins taking pics with the flash on during the night cycle will that affect the plants?
Ill give it a go tomorrow.

flushing also depends on how smooth of a smoke u want or how tasty u want it..a week isnt enough for my pleasure its all about how it taste to me and how high i get..flush for 2 weeks at least..shit i know a dude that grows for cannabis clubs and he flush's a shit load..like 3weeks to a month or so before harvest

Another question: During which week can I expect to the buds to turn into blue/purple complexion?

Dont take a picture with flash during there night cycle. That would not be good. Any light at all can cause your plants flowering cycle to slow or go screwy.

During the last say 2 to 3 weeks your plants will turn purple/blueish "but" it also has alot to do with "heat" and with "Phosphorus" I think its phosphorus atleast . Ill have to double check that might be Potassium, ill get back to you on that. But in generality the buds closest to the heat wont turn as purple/blue. So try to keep them cool during the day and extra cool at night.

The purple loves the cold!bongsmilie

Your bud wont necessarily be purple, or blue. I've seen plants of dp bb, and its green. Mine was never even close to blue or purple. I guess it all depends on the pheno you get. Also temp does effect it. Have your heard of cold shocking ? If you want to try extra hard to get buds like them, try some stuff, like that purple maxx, i heard it helps... g'luck.

And in my opinion, I don't think it will be effected/hurt or anything crazy if you take a few pictures with the flash.

Here we go, Ive taken some pics in better lighting conditions some pics are much better than other so be sure to take a peek at them all. Some hairs have now began to turn amber on all 4 plants but NOT on the entire plant top to bottom Id say about 20% of browning.

IM IN WEEK 6 (BLUEBERRY IS SUPPOSED TO 8-9 WEEKS) OF FLOWERING BUT DO YOU THINK NOW IS THE TIME TO BEGIN FLUSHING? I WAS PLANNING TO FLUSH 2 WEEKS BEFORE HARVEST BUT IM UNCERTAIN :?

I start my flush at about 8 weeks. Lately I've been flushing with Clearex for 24 hours and then I run 450ml of Sweet for a week.

The buds taste like candy!

Check out the photos. The last one is what it will look like when it is ready to flush. The first few shots are what it will look like at the end of your flush.

The reason plants turn colors during cold temps has to do with nutrient lockout. As soon as you start your flush you are in essence locking out all the nutrients to the plants roots.

That's why my plants turn colors just like they are outdoors but it's actually 86 degrees.

I take pictures of my plants at night all the time. I've also revegged plants many times over the last 15 years. It takes a minimum of 10-14 days at 24/7 to get the plants to start vegging again.

Good luck bro!

Thanks Stinkbud,
Are you growing BB too?
I find it really strange that one of my BB plants have automatically turned its leaves brownish maroon as if its already in flush mode (see pics) so far no-one has been identify what the cause is, Im guessing its a Nitrogen deficiency.

These are normal blueberry genetics and not nute defficiency ...i would flush at about 7.5 weeks and flush for a full 10 days....blueberry bulks up in the last 2 weeks prob like 30% of its weight...you will also not recieve maximum yield unless topping....also hard 2 clone.......just my 2 cents worth....good luck

Thanks for the genetic & flushing fact, I did hear about the topping & final higher weight towards the end of the growth but that was after I purchased the seeds. For some reason I cant get it to root in rockwool it just forms a white clump/bulb in the area where it would normal produce roots so now I use root riot & that works perfectly though it does take 2 weeks to establish roots. Ill be topping & lollipoping during my next grow just to compare the difference. Thank you for your input dude.

hey i just stubled on to youe post.....i know u must have harvested by now.....im into my 5th week with bb i was wondering what did u get for weight off of each plant.....i think i ran my ppms too high and relowered them down and im seeing an improvement in my nugs but i didnt for awhile they looked like nothing was happeneing...

hopefully i can get this right bb is very hard for me to clone and grow like the add said its for experienced growers or it will make you one fast....lol
