Any Morel Hunters?

I've heard there are a lot around where I live. I had a friend who found some a few years ago while we were camping, we fried them in oil, they were delicious! I'll have to find some info and start looking in the woods.

Black morels are just now comming up here in midwest ohio. won't be long before grays and yellows are up as well, probably last of april-1st of may. I'd rather eat shrooms, than the best steak ever grown...... ever go to michigan to hunt them???? man, they are everywhere up there during their season!!!!!!!!!

Have heard of some people finding blacks also. Have never hunted Michigan but, but it's definately on my to-do list.

I went up 3 years ago and in four days, had a pickup bed loaded down with them! Look for Boyne City/Chandler Hills (Michigan) area for tons of them!

I had 300lbs of them from michigan, I sold the shit out of them and kept 1/2 of them. I had the shroom shits for 6 months. ahhhhhhhhhh, it was well worth it!

I've owned this property for 15 years now and have never found a black yet. I only have 1 poplar tree on the whole place but lots of other hardwood. I have lots of apple, crabapple, and elm with yellows galore. I'll find one sooner or later.

I have been hunting for them for years now.

I live right off the Blue Ridge Parkway so there are a lot of woods around. Probably going some time in the next week and we usually find a shit load of Ramps too!
