Microchips for everyone!

They're working on implantable chips for video gaming too. Either way, the chip will be like how cell phones are for us right now. Everyone will have one eventually. I'm sure a rise in new technologies that require micro chipping will change people minds about being tracked 24/7.
:: coughs ::

How about over my dead body? (Which I'm sure they'd be happy to arrange if I resisted to vociferously)

the ends can never justify the means, morally repugnant means leads to morally repugnant ends.
I disagree. I'm not sure I understand the point you're trying to make by suggesting that microchip implants are "morally repugnant". Is there a moral dilemma that I'm missing?

Right to privacy
Right not to incriminate yourself
Right to be secure in your effects, home, papers, etc.

The list of moral dilemmas goes on and on and on.

Does the saying "the mark of the beast" have any meaning for you? 666!

Hey MedMan you picked up on the clues right away. You are the winner!

for the rest who don't understand what he is talking about.

“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16-17

the mark is the chip.

I think this topic really is a subject in what sort of rights to privacy/anonymity do we as a culture have? I don't recall that being a huge part of the US Constitution, but IMO it's implied, and is inseparable from liberty.

Secure in paper, property, effects, home, etc.

Sounds like a definition of having the right to privacy and anonymity to me...

I'm fine with microchips. I just microwaved some corn chips and cheese and am preparing the salsa now.

I wouldn't mind, if I was in complete control of it. And no one could ever hack into it. And it was completely safe for my body and brain. I wouldn't inject it... but I would keep it on my body, attached or something, so it can be pulled off in case of emergency.

If implantable chips really are for our best interest, then they will most definitely be revolutionary in the medial field. Criminal as well. Commit a crime, you're caught instantly.

The problem I see with that is it also makes it much easier some one.

"The prosecution submits this record from this sensor that indicates that the suspect was in fact in the apartment."

:: mean while in a office far far away the real perp tosses the fake sensor into the trash ::

"Well boss, we got rid of another dissident."
