Ironically, it is the opposite of the intentions of the founders, who specifically allowed for the selection (as opposed to election) of Senators by the States to not only apply the brakes on popular stupidity, but to also give one house solidly over to the aristocracy.

seems odd fox news..as i posted before more often than not has the ratings of ALL THE OTHER CABLE NEWS CHANNELS COMBINED.
fox news is kicking ass..nbc is going broke..cnn has a decent viewership ..but no where near the ratings fox has.
as viewership declines so do revenues from advertisement.
fox news is bankrupting the other news channels.

LOL the reason Faux hasnt gone broke and the others have is because the others report the news which isnt always exciting, while Faux is for entertainment purposes. They say what they have to in order to get paid , you are bascially paying, you might as well watch the daily show or the onion. Maybe they could make more money by branching out and starting a N. Korean Fox News station, it would have the same integraty .

Now that Obamas Drug czar wants to assume a more reasonable approach to drugs, I wonder what all the righties will say about this. I'm sure they will either ignore it or find some way to belittle it. I doubt McCain would have altered the drug war in the least, may have even racheted it up some more.

its about time the drug war has failed and only serves to incarcerate americans time to take a better approach. its been proven that addiction treatment and support is more effective than simply imprisoning non-violent drug offenders. the us imprisons more people than any other country and many are drug offenders.

Though speaking of listening to their opinions (sometimes), I'lm also listening to your opinion, and disagreeing with it.
That (the act of disagreeing) does not mean that I didn't listen to it, and judge it on its ( lack of ) merits.
As far as Rush Limbaugh, I don't actually listen to him, though I do read Ann Coulter from time to time, and actually believe that she is a rational person for the most part that might have a few hot buttons (like most people) that will get her up in arms.
Of course, like most normal well-adjusted people, she doesn't react well to having her beliefs attacked.
I don't think you'd react well if some one came in and attempted to force you to stop smoking pot (attacking your belief that you should be able to.)
And as can be seen by your reaction to Rush and Coulter it is clear that you obviously didn't react politely to them challengeing your ideological beliefs.
Does that mean that you are also crazy?

yeah im crazy. but compared to those 2 im rather normal. keep in mind a lot of moderate republicans feel that the limbaugh and coltuer are a serious threat to there partys need to assimilate and keep in touch with with modern america. the religion based way of law making and policy is long outdated and is crushing and dividing the republican party in a way those two benefit the liberals because they turn many repubs away from there own party.
