Im trying to save money and power so im trying to get CFL for flowering. If youve grown a good yield with a certain type of CFL please let me know or recommended CFL's...I know most of you would buy HPS< or MH lights but im broke and thats all i can get. If anybody has any pictures of plants growing buds using CFL please post.

Check out the cfl grow journals my dude. Roseman's got a particularly enlightening thread all about cfls with pics of course.

cfl's will flower ok but not to the full potential, it might take a week or two longer to reach its full trichrome potential

here are some plants that were just some bagseed, this is week five of flowering. this was a couple of grows ago for me. not that big of buds, but good for personal. i have seen some monsters grown with cfl's. but they are far and few between. a good starter set-up though, because there are no reall heat issues and the lights can be right up on the plants so height is a little less of an issue. good luck

the more cfl the better keep them 1-3 inches away and you can only grow small plants with them i start to flower 2 weeks after the first true leaves

I agree, you cant have too many cfls.
One thing fish, if you would let your plants veg a little longer maybe you wouldnt grow such small plants. Add enough cfls and they will get big.

the ones that start looking like "normal" marijuana leaves. typically around the 4th set of leaves you see. i think this is what he means. But that is truly way too early to start flowering on a typical plant. it can depend on how large you want the plant to be...more veg time=bigger plant. Ive done 3 CFL grows successfully so far, and i typically veg for a month (1foot to 1.5feet tall) then begin flowering stage. and it produced killer buds. 1 small J and it mind f*cks me.

i tryrd it and my results sucked ass, my plant were soo small i got one bud from each plant. it wasent much but um wow my plants no shit stood no more than 8 inches tall. But it was some nasty tasteing stuff but man of man was it strong. ummmmm good luck
peace

This is a Diesel Ryder I flowered under CFLs. I think it wold have turned out even better if I had been able to use CFLs the entire time instead of keeping it on my hot and badly lit balcony for a couple of the weeks.

yes people produce 1gram per wat using hid's.

also alot of people have used 12/12 from seed and got 1lb per plant.
mind u its best to do this with bagseed or sativa strains.

i am doing 12/12 from 2 weeks veg at 7" and hopeing to get an oz+ per plant using clf's.

I am expanding, and I need to supplement light rather than just use my one HPS. I have been accused of being overpowered on light as I only use one HPS for 2 flowering plants at a time. I veg under CFLs just fine. I was thinking of trying to use only CFLs in a grow room that is 6x8. I am worried about my yield being not what it should though, or if it will be as nice as my HPS light. But like you, I want to save energy costs and not overload my circuit either.

I dunno, I think I will head over and check out the CFL journals as well.

yeah jus thought id post these all cfl flower tastes soooo goood
