Yosemite Area Outdoor Grow

Hello All-
First time grower here, i live in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Yosemite in Ca. This is a prop.215 medical grow for 2 patients. Looking for a bit of help. I'm doing an outdoor grow, in the ground, 22 plants total. 10 from seeds, and 12 clones of different ages and types. I germinated the seeds May 20th, put into the ground June 4th with the first 3 clones. Soil was worked over with all kinds of good stuff (too much to list) rototilled to 3 feet deep (i own an old backhoe).The last 9 clones went into the ground June 13th. I have been feeding them Fox Farms Grow big, and just started feeding them Big Bloom. They look great!
I was going to buy more big bloom (expensive stuff) then i seen a thread about nutes for bloom season and Angus suggested to someone to use Blue Mountain Organics. So i looked them up, and i really like what they have in their products. I just ordered a bunch of their Flower power, and Tonic. My question is when do i stop with the grow big, and when do i introduce the tonic and flower power, and how much?

check your local almanac for when the natural photoperiod switches to 12/12 (L/D), thats typically when to start feeding with flowering nutrients. Unfortunately outdoor plant growth in California this year has been very odd for some growers because of freak weather etc. Other than that, Im not sure what you want help with. flowering period will start when the plants recognize the days getting shorter (mid august), not when it is 12/12. 12 and 12 is for force flowering indoors and has nothing to do with outdoors.

i can't give you advice on the nutes since i'm not familiar with them, but i can say that you want to use the veg nutes until the flowering process starts (and i think with grow big you use it with the flowering nutes for a week or two).

Thanks PaPi- I'll keep checking for signs of showing their sex, i know it's getting close that's why i asked. Anyone else in the Sierra foothills, or California? Hot as hell here today, 104.7 in the garden today @ 2250 ft elevation. It just went under 80 degrees here and it's midnight. Weather man says it's going to be like this for next 7-10 days. Not sure how much heat the plants can take. Should i worry?, do i need to provide shade? I water everyday when it's this hot, in the evenings when the sun is off them. Should i water in the mornings insted? maybe both morning and evening? I see signs of a couple leaves burning, but only on 1 plant. any advise?

Days are getting shorter right now and August is a month away........ there are areas outside that get 12/12 all year. No matter when the plants are placed in these areas they go into flower, go figure.....

If you look in the almanac you will find that for most of the US the days hit 12/12 in beginning, mid to late August.......

Indoors or out pot plants are pot plants, despite the different strains. Rhuderalis for example......... will flower in its own due time regardless of being indoor or outdoor. Indoor simply allows for more control of all of the elements surrounding the plants growth. For example, the photoperiod the plants are exposed to. Flowering is based on the natural seasons change signifying for the plant to breed and die off. Try taking a plant from 20 hrs to 16 hrs in small incruments and see if it goes into flower ......

I've been inspecting the plants everyday, and still no signs of flowering. The farmers almanac says after July 16th the plants will understand that the the days are getting shorter and you should know the sex of a plant within a week or two of that July 16th date. So sounds like Aug 1st i should know something.

yo man-when the pre flowering starts, then that stage will last about 2 weeks-white hairs popping out on the tops-whithin that 2 weeks, dont switch straight to bloom nute-mix your vegg nutes and bloom nutes together, cas in that stage it is good to still give your plant some vegge nutes as well but at the same time intorducing to new bloom nutes.

This is the garden, remember these were seeds less then 2mos. ago. Looks like I may have some crowding issues if all ten of the seed stock turn out to be females. I'm sure there will be a few males. Remember 10 from seed stock, 12 clones. Please leave feedback.

i would deffinetly water in the mornings right as the sun pops out if possible .... and maybe half at night .. they should stand up to the heat just keep them babies waterd. and they are loving watever u are doing now so just keep it up lookin good my friend ....o ya as for the leaves fan leaves tend to die it is ok just pluck it off..... aslong as they all arnt dying i think your ok...

They are on an auto timer, so i could adjust to any schedule. I think i will water in the mornings just b-4 the sun pops up, and shower them in the evenings. (note the blue tote in the middle of garden, i set the sprinkler on top of that) They luv there evening showers. Very hot and Very dry here.

Once they start flowering your going to want to stop with the sprinkler,

Yeah you want to use a hose or a very short sprinkler once they start flowering otherwise it will reduce potency when trichromes fall off and will increase your chances of bud rot. Otherwise, your plants are looking great, let us know how they smoke

Sweet grow...nice and secure...there will be some crowding, wont affect them all that much though.

When the fan leaves start yellowing torwards the base, during flowering this is because there is a decrease in Nitrogen uptake and increase in Phosphorus to induce flowering. I'm using FF's Grow Big in combination with FF's Tiger Bloom. TIger Bloom increases bud sites and boosts Phosphorus levels. Grow Big boosts the Nitrogen levels, thus creating a nice balance during transition.

Nice healthy looking plants. I'm in SoCal, started my seed the last week of February, and it started showing preflowers around June 24, or thereabouts. Probably doesn't help you for determining when yours will flower, tho. Either way, it looks like you're gonna have 2 very happy patients. Cheers.

yeah, you might want to try to increase the perimeter of your fence to allow for more space, they still have another month of veg left! They should get to a good size by the time they flower.

Nice grow treeman. I really like the security of your grow area. I am growing in mountains of SoCal at about 6,000 feet, so I'll be particularly interested in the parallels of our operations when it's all said and done. Whatever you're doing it's working! Keep repping Cali mountain growing!
