Haha...those days are over for me. I never was one to like acid to begin with....now shrooms, that's another story altogether. But even now, I'm not exactly up for that.
Just give me my MJ and coffee.

I think our whole currency and economic situation is fucked.
I wish it was possible to just go back to bartering. Trading. Just work on some dude's car and he'll give you some herbal or some food. Or trade one for the other. But now everything's so digitalized and we rely on the economy so much that we'll never go back to that way of life i bet. Our money is made by a private bank. The federal reserve is nothing more then a Wachovia type bank - except they make our money. Which is totally fucked because now they pretty much run the government and it's private people. Very easy to be corrupted and manipulated into a tyrannical situation.

But ya I'm from the Massachusetts area and unless you buy like a 1/4 lb. It's like 350 a zip. And that's not okay with me. If anything for great heady herbal - I think It should be like 50 bucks tops. Even though I know this is unheard of - I guess it's just my perfect world.

Ridiculous

How mush for an oz of mush?

Barter system wouldn't work.

I have an idea that would work and completely rid us of currency, but most people are so brainwashed to believe our existence is based on cash, people don't go for it :(

I guess people are just so blindsighted they can't even imagine a world without money/currency.... bah

ya i find it ridiculous as well. what's your idea that would completely rid us of our currency? I mean really our currency is already in the works of being changed. After the North American Union is finalized and put into place. All of America, Mexico, and Canada will all use the "Amero". If you don't believe me - google it. Except when they switch from the federal reserve notes to the Amero - it's been calculated that we'll be getting about $1 for every $10.

Look this stuff up it aint a fuckin joke.

I know I have been keeping track of it for the last 5 years...... all this was put into plans back during WW1, and has roots as far back (from what I have read) as BC!

You would call it communism i suppose..... but a system of Responsibility and community..... honor.....

Its simply extremely complicated, but in a nut shell

Replace Currency with a basic and generally accepted set of values and code of conduct......

Extremely complex, but thats it in a nut shell......

I got it all outlined in me head...... but doesn't mean people would let it happen....

Too much greed in peoples hearts (too much fear) for them to understand that sometimes change is good, sometimes dramatic change is necessary, sometimes radical changes are very benificial........

go ahead and say it won't work.....

and my only response is: it won't work unless you let it, you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink, and if it doesn't drink it will die.

i wouldn't be the one to say it wouldn't work. i'm open to anything especially something built on a code of honor like that. obviously i don't know much about your idea so i'm not sure. but it seems better then what we have in use right now. the economy is controlled by the banking elites the only reason our economy is shitty is because they want it to be. they want us in a state of panic. ya the illuminati date wayyyy back. you are correct sir!

Close. You can lead a horse to water but you can't teach an old dog to make a silk purse out of a pig in a poke.

And let's not even get started on banks! Mine robbed me blind last month, and one would think it'd be illegal but nooo, they've got loopholes! :cuss:

I love how people get their panties in a bunch at the thought of the rich elite having money "taken" from them (I've no idea how a yacht used soley for personal use by family and friends can legally be a "business" tax write-off, like my filthy rich uncle did!), but it's perfectly OK to steal from poor people.... such as, say, a bank robbing someone on SSI disability of over $300 in overdraft charges, when it was the bank that intentionally processed spending transactions that were made two days after the SSI direct deposit was made, before processing the deposit! Know what their reply to this was? "We reserve the right to process transactions in the order we choose." WTF?!? Yep, that's exactly what they did, and exactly what they told me! And this is legal, so I've no recourse!!!

And people bitch about the prices of pot?! Something that is an "extra" unless one is using it medically? (No, I'm not saying that medical use is "better" or anything like that; just saying that getting high is an extra and a luxury if one isn't using it to treat medical conditions, just like any pharmaceutical drug or alcohol.) I'm more concerned with the cost of living! And I'm referring to simply keeping a roof over my head, no extras! I absolutely need the pot for severe, widespread chronic pain, so it's extremely important that I have it. Yet I can recitify that expense easily by growing, which I'm now doing. I can't rectify the insane prices to survive, without becoming a Shopping Cart Lady! I mean, how do I grow a house?!

I think your idea actually includes bartering. Why won't taking the valueless cotton out of the equation work? I think the value of your goods or services would be more realistic and fair. Sounds like anarchy...unfortunately the word anarchy has the connotation of chaos...punk rock...and theft. I am not sure if this is
what it really means....anyhow...I know the youngsters do not like anything hippyish, but a more communal living situation. Now this just would not work in the stressed out overpopulated cities with no community. I know that nothing will change without a major catastrophe...even then we will likely repeat the same mistakes. So I am focusing on changing MY situation...those in the cities who love the dollar and all they are told they must have, are a lost cause anyhow...they will simply fence themselves in. Now how to keep them from driving their SUV's over fragile habitat, pissing in the streams, or decorating their rumpus rooms with the severed heads of simple beings minding their own business, IMO, is the problem....maybe they will build their fence higher!

:leaf::peace::leaf:

Money IS a tool of oppression, nothing more.
Absolutely!

I meant global and regional communities ;)..... and yes barter and trade would thrive in the socio-economy I was talking about, much so like it does now despite money, but even more. The basic ideal is- Establishing a Value system that is not based on material possessions, where work, industry, and education remain vital and are kept in regards to what is realistically needed and being used. Where Value lyes in being a good patron/citizen- and living by basic principles and ethics, being rewarded for that (and working a job) by having pretty much free access to goods and services......

I suppose we are talking about a Marxism/communism/socialism/anarchy mix. I suppose I should write something a bit more coherent and fluid with some crucial details........ when I have more time......

And of course there would be measures put into place to see that things aren't being abused (as far as free access to goods and services, without the punch cards ;) )...... and government would have to change in a lot of ways....... like I said I will write more about it later if anyone wants to hear about it........

Damn dude, that sucks. Mine did a similar thing by bouncing a rent check the same day the auto deposit hit, but they only present the check once now...so they can get some free $$! scumbags. Which piece of shit bank is this so we can avoid doing biz.?

I believe the measures need only be honor; armed citizenry takes care of the rest...I know, I know wild west blah blah...but if the average car jacker knows he is likely to get shot for a joy ride...they will likely choose the bus. Using the telephone to protect life and liberty makes no sense

Bank of Assholes.

And "auto" or "direct" deposit is the key point here. I can understand holding checks deposited manually or via ATM, as they can bounce. But automatic direct deposit, from Social Security, for the same amount every month?! There is no question as to whether it'll clear! And how can they claim that they're "worried" that a deposit won't clear, but they've got no problem at all with us withdrawing money from our accounts that isn't there? It's all bullshit! They're not happy with the interest they make off of the free loans we give them by allowing them to hold our money in their vaults, so they need to set out to steal all they can from us! And all of this is legal.... we're supposed to follow their rules, but they're exempt!

I've known about sketchy (to say the least!) banking practices for years. But this one took the cake! I was scrounging change for ramen noodles and frozen burittos at the end of the month, and still my neighbors fronted me food.... and pot. Thankfully, else I'd have literally gone hungry and had no pain relief for eleven days! My fiance came home from his deployment (WOO HOO, he's home and safe!) at the tail end of all of this, and he wasn't in the least surprised it happened.

I learned more about these bank and credit card company practices in the last month. They indeed do want us to be overdrawn and late on payments, because that is where they make the most profit.... screwing the little people for bogus charges when they are indeed making their payments (or deposits) on time; or when the bills/notices arrive, at any rate. They set it up for us to be late and/or overdrawn. This has been a common practice for who knows how long, but it's more intense now that the economy has gone down the toilet. (Again.) The majority of us are led to believe that our money is "safer" with the large, well-known banks. This couldn't be further from the truth. I went with BofA to avoid the extra ATM charges levied when you use another bank's ATM, as they've got machines all over the place. Well, saving from ATM charges isn't worth all I've lost from BofA. Not by a long shot!

So the big wig companies screwed up their businesses, got bailed out, and still steal from their customers so that they get bailed out even more!

My fiance is taking me to a small credit union or one of the "mom & pop" banks to open an account there, and as soon as my disability direct deposit makes its switch to the new account, I'm closing my BofA account and will never do business with them (nor any of the large banks) again!

Now, again I ask.... How can anyone bitch about the prices of something that is obtained via the black market, something that really does have a supply & demand issue, when we're being ripped off left and right by the so-called "legitimate" businesses?!

The era of the Wild West had less murders, rapes, etc., than there are now, per capita. Gee, maybe because more people were actually afraid of the consequences of their actions? There's something to be said for vigilantism; in my book much better things to be said than how it is now.

The crazy isn't coming out. It's common sense, stemming from being aware how things are not working as they're set up now. ;)
