1st Grow figured id give it a try

took a couple more pics of my baby's this morning to post up i think i might start flowering within the next day or so. So i also got a question i took a pic of what used to be a bush plant but for some reason all the big lower fan leaves keep dieing that usually happen with plants?

take them all OFF, you dont need them anyways. its a technique called lollipoping by taking all the lower branches off

So i have some random questions about stuff. 1. why do some plants have seven little leafs to a fan leaf and some have 5? 2. can you do anything with a fan leaf other than throw it away?

To answer your question about the leaf situation, when your growing a plant its first set of true leaves will have 3 'fingers' we'll call them, then the second set will have 5, then the third set 7, and so on! Thats just how it goes...to my knowledge.

to answer the 2nd question, no you cant do anything with the fan leaves except take them off lol thats what i do just to get some light in those hard to reach places. and yes the plant looks great now do the others... get back at me

Alright so my baby's are now 4 weeks old and i think i might start flowering tonight. I finished all the lollipopping and think they look good but what do i know

started flowering last night im gonna do from midnight to noon. changed all but my two 100w bulbs to flowering lights 2700k so far so good and i hope it continues to go well cause my next grow might double in plants lol. ill post pics when they do something worth photographing

yeah next grow id like to get the 430w son agro light i found that way i can hang it high up and not have to worry about moving the plants all over and can use cfl's on the side. i realize ill have to get a couple more fans and a temp humidity gauge but this was a learning grow and still is. how far into flowering will my plants sex? or is it random

they will probably sex in a week or two when you notice the pistils

hey jheazy if someone was gonna give you a thousand bucks for growing what stuff would you get lol cause i wanna be able to be more efficient at it and get what i need for the next time around.

shit thats a very good question, it depends on the space i would have but ill go based on a small room and get some of the basic stuff for a perfect grow. heres a little list.....
2 HPS bulbs (250 or 400 Watts)
10 containers
some nutes maybe some biobizz or advance line
soil medium
ph/ppm testers
fans and ducts (exhaust/intake)
carbon filter for the smell
temp/humidity meter

thats just some basic stuff

could i do like ten-12 small plants under one big light kinda like a SOG and then just keep cloning them? i have no idea who any of that actually works but it sounds good lol

yea that could work, ive seen someone have 15 plants in a small closet with a nice HPS bulb that did the job very well.

you think like a 600w hps would work from the start? i was thinking of doing 12-12 from seed.

shit a 600 would be perfect even a 400 would be alright. and if you want to do 12/12 from seed thats cool too but their gonna be a little small uunless you got a small space?

no i mean that closet is pretty good size i think my problem is i need a better lighting system so i can do more plants id like to have six going id could have something with a bigger bang at the end.
