will that stunt its growth. the leaves haddnt seperated yet, and they were completely yellow. its recovering, but all the other plants are about 1/2 an inch taller and all green and healthy..
i mean.. the plant is normal, just like the rest, but its smaller and lagging in the growth department. if i just left it alone, you think it woulda kept up with the rest?

You probably pulled the seed off too late, rather than too early. Either way, the plant will be stunted a little for a while, but as long as everything else is okay (watering, environment, etc) it should catch up to the others in no time.
There's no harm in pulling the seed off. Sometimes they won't come off by themselves. I had one seedling wearing his shell as a hat. The leaves couldn't unfurl under the shell to push it off, so I had to pull it off myself so the plant could get some light.
By pulling it off, you give the seedling a fighting chance where it might not have had one before.
Like I said, it might be stunted for a while but it should be fine
