My First Grow

so i made a trip to walmart and got some real good stuff. i got a clamp light(10.5 inch wide reflector), adjustable height shelf, and a 2 pack of 26 watt 6500K cfls. since the shelf is now in the corner of my closet and all of my walls are white, i figured it would be some good reflection coming off the walls. i also, as youll see in the pics, tapped up a white trash bag in the front of the shelf to reflect the light that was escaping that way into the closet. i know that is a real ghetto rig but i think it will work a lot better than what i had going before. i also thought i might as well put a white shirt as the first piece of clothing to be facing the plant, so that might reflect something too haha(prob not). anyways, let me know what yall think about my set-up. oh and my question was do you think i should take off the reflective hood of the clamp light that is facing the corner and put on a y-splitter onto that clamp light with one 2700K light that ive got now and make the other light the new 6500K light i just got? on the new clamp light i think the reflector hood is big enough to hold both lights, but the older one is too small. or maybe i should make the 10.5 inch clamp light face the corner with the two different lights in it and make the old clamp with the two lights closer to the wall and facing out, since it cant really reflect anything anyways since it is facing away from the corner. oh and im also going to the local hardware store tomorrow to get the y-splitters and a small fan to keep in the room.
i know this is a lot of rambling and thinking, but i think im real close to having a real good set-up. any ideas or suggestions?

is it bad that my some of my leaves are turning down at the tips? they look really healthy, and i dont think i have been over watering them or anything, cause ive been doing the finger in the soil test to see when to water. any ideas why some of the leaves are doing that? is it the positioning of my lights? here's some pics to show yall what im talking about.
my light set-up is the same as it is in the last picture, but i tilted both of the clamp lights down a little bit just to make sure the bottom leaves were getting enough light. both of the bottoms of the clamp lights are just about touching the container, so i figured that all of the light would be bouncing off of the reflector or hitting the plant directly.
oh and i also got a fan that im about to set up pretty soon once i get a good extension cord.

so when i was trying to set my fan up, i plugged one of the clamp lights into the power strip and for some reason the bulb blew, and now one of my 26watt 6500K lights doesnt work anymore. i took down the white trashbag(that was my reflector), and i have also put up a third light(desk lamp). one of the clamp lights now has a 26watt 2700K light and the desk lamp also has the same bulb. i only have the one 26 watt 6500K light going now with the other two 2700K lights. is that going to be a problem? i know that 6500K is better for veg, but thats all i have right now, and ive just spent a bunch of money on lights and equipment. so do you think that will be ok as a set up for now? im going to be rotating the plant every so often so that it wont grow towards any one light.

so my leaves are still not completely erect, but i guess thats not too big of a problem. here's my newest pics. my plant has been growing for just under 3 weeks so i guess its still to early for nutes. throw me any suggestions if youve got them.
i fixed the stem leaning by adding more soil to the base and lightly pushing it back straight up.

so i made a trip to lowes and got a replacement clamp light(the clamp light i got at walmart didnt have an on/off switch and the reflector couldnt be taken off), 3 y splitters, and a 4 pack of 26 watt 6500K cfls. i think this will be my set-up for a while now, but i will prob use my desk lamp sometime soon.

right now ive got 4 26 watt 6500K cfls hanging above about an inch or so away from the plant, would it be beneficial to add the desk lamp now with a y splitter and try to have another 6500K and a 2700K bulb, or should i just leave it like it is? i like it the way it is now cause its a real clean set-up.

i also moved a circulating fan in the room that has an ionizer in it and a thermostat. it says its 83 degrees right now, but that was when i just put the fan in there, so i think once its been in there for a bit it ought to cool down pretty well.

i did have a question about when to switch to flowering, cause im sortve on a dead line for how long i can grow it, cause ive got to go on a trip and wont be able to take care of it.

so if im leaving sometime mid december, how long should i wait to flower the plant so that it is ready for harvesting by mid december?

This is a great new set-up. The y splitter was a great idea. I dont know much about CFL or I would throw my .02 in. there are tons of people on here that live and die by cfls find them and ask away.

so i started the 12-12 cycle just now. im hoping for the best. since im just using clamp lights with y splitters, my 47 watt(2700K) cfl is making the whole y splitter droop down cause it is so much bigger than the other bulbs, and im afraid its going to fall. anything i could do to stop that? cause ive tried to tighten the clamp up already but its as tight as it can go.

eagles make sure to have the right cfls going. The ones with the red spectrum, like I said before wish I could be of more help with amount of lights what kelvin and all the other things that come with them. growth is looking good keep it up. I wanna see these little guys when they finish up.

will do. i only have two 47 watt 2700K bulbs, which are in the red spectrum so that would be better for flowering. i have two 27 watt 6500K bulbs up also which are in the blue spectrum which is better for vegging. im going to get some more 2700K bulbs soon, i just dont have any money on me right now. i know i need to get more of them though. thanks for all of your help though. this thread has mostly just been a convo between me and you haha.

and i finally got you on the rep haha, thanks again

yea bro not a problem. Like I said before people helped me get started and I wanna try to pass on the advice its all part of this great community. Look into some CFL grows to get a better idea of how many lights and of what spectrum as well. Ask questions in those threads and invite people to check out ur grow thats what i do. It really helps! theloadeddragon, greenfirekilla, steadmanclan, and blackroses all help out a ton!
