Durban Poison Pictures

Do you think the buds will be potent or More than likely more bark than bite?

I would love to see pictures of Durban Poison grows by anybody who has had the pleasure to experience such a remarkable strain of herb.

Yea, I am very content with the str8 of herb I did. Loving it and so far, I've only sampled a few baby nugs that were TINY...and wow.... Post some pics of your Durbons when you get a chance.

I looked at your album and it looks like you've cut off almost all of your fan leaves. Why would you ever want to do that...?

yeah bad move pulling off all the fan leaves, they are like solar panels for the plant
I will explain photosynthesis for you if you'd like

One thing is certain, this was my first grow and if I ever do it again, things will run much smoother and stress free. The cutting of fan leaves was a newbie mistake of thousands. Also, I hear that is debatable. Ive read so much debate about the fan leave thingy.

There is no debate, you shouldn't do it
There is no benefit from it. Unless you are lollipopping leaves should never be removed
They are there to soak up the light and combine the water you give it and the co2 it takes in to create glucose
6co2+6h20+ energy= c6h1206 (glucose)
Simple photosynthesis. Cutting off leaves to get light to the buds is like cutting leaves off a tomato plant to get light to the tomatoes
Doesn't do anything but stunt growth

At least you learned from your mistake. Just use your own common sense when you're unsure. If a fan leaf required more energy to stay alive than it provided, would a plant be able to grow and thrive?

Still nice looking plants, and I hope you have a good harvest. DP is something id like to grow out sometime. Maybe Ill pick up a couple seeds for my next grow.

they look like tasty buds . let them finish out

Thanks I appreciate that. If you had to guess (realizing that I think 3 of these are Durban Poison and two are a mystery strain) just be looking how long would you say I have left? Note that I messed up when i said day 26...I think its like day 24...lol. I had a few really recreational days ...lol

MMGuy

there is debate or "grower's technique" to pruning back fan leaves during later stages of flowering.....i know i have for certain on several different grows pruned fan leaves when supper cropping or to prevent pm or even when i was trying to let some buds at the bottom to finish up properly that were being blocked by large fan leaves....but all in all no you should not trim fan leaves....only a suggestion from things i have tried out. happy growing :-D

btw DP normally is around 8-9 weeks flowering i suggest getting at least a 60x mag lens to harvest properly though.

You do the same thing on your tomato plants? I'm glad you learned not to do that anymore
