Never confuse the laws of men with those of God.
And yes, he did give us every seed bearing HERB and fruit bearing tree. It's in Genesis, chapter 1. Right in the beginning. Kinda hard to miss for all those higher order clergy, wouldn't you say... But then again, they're no different than politicians themselves; similar agendas, the drive for money, etc.
