Barney's Red Dragon Grow - Organic

Dayzt- GOOD STUFF!!!

I got some RD right now in week 2 of flowering and plan on doing a SOG style with, I just lollipopped them this past weekend. My question is how are you determining when your ladies our finished? I was going to base it on trichs 50/50, and then flush for a week with AN- Final Phase. What are your trichs looking like at the end of week 7? I was hoping chop the girls at the end of week 7.
1000w HPS
Soil: FF Ocean Forest,
Nutes: AN Bloom A&B, Bud Candy, Big Bud, Bud X Factor, and Overdrive

Hey in3dep... I've been watching for about a 80/20 (cloudy/amber) on the trichs, but so far (now at just over 7 weeks) they are most still clear. The other two plants in there are mostly cloudy right now and are just beginning to show some amber trichs. The plan is to do 1 more good flush tomorrow night on them and most likely harvest them next weekend. The Red Dragons are really looking good, but will likely need another 2-3 weeks at least...we'll see what they look like nearing mid-to-late week 9 in April... I'll be flushing with just straight pH'd water followed by just over a whole week of no water or nutes before chopping time. :joint:

I'm no dayzt but just gotta say this 7 weeks???? And waste the months you spent vegging and flowering them to 7 weeks. I'd say 10 weeks ATLEAST and I've never even grown the stuff, I normally take all mine to 10 min sometimes 12 weeks for the fully done stuff. Its well worth the wait if you ask me, the high last just sooooooo much longer with mature bud.

Ok sorry Dayzt you can answer your question now. Hope I didn't rub ya the wrong way for that.

:leaf::peace::leaf:

Lol...it's all good greenfire man!! Looks like you misread something back there though! ;-) I'll be taking down the bagseed plant and possibly the Dreamtime plant next weekend (end of week 9), but the Red Dragons are all going at least 9.5-10 weeks before they get their final flush. We'll have these earlier ones to keep us busy for a bit, so there's not rush on these girls! I agree about the longer, better high on more mature buds - but it also usually means a heavier stone (more amber trichs), which isn't really what I want from them as much as that 'exotic sativa high' that Barney's advertises for this hybrid strain...

I feel ya. I personally don't go by the trichs. I go by the look of the bud, I'm a firm believer in you can't change genetics ie. its gonna be blue if its got blue genes, and its gonna be black if its got black genes etc etc..... not saying that blue or black genes is possible or even relevant just using that as an example for you can never exceed a plants set genetics only make the best of them by letting it fully go. I dunno I guess I'm just different about it.

So week 8 has now come to an end, and the two plants (bagseed (Mercy) and Dreamtime (Nails)) are still on schedule to come down this next weekend. Those two rec'd their last good flushing this past Thursday and are now on their last week without any water/food so they can dry out a bit before cutting time. (Friday or Saturday evening).

The dragons are all still givin'er - the topped plant is finally starting to fill-out a bit more and the other two are looking good - starting to show more brown/orange hairs now and getting denser each day.

Here's a pic update!

It's the end of week 9 of flowering and the two odd-ball plants in this grow were ready to come down.

- After about 3 hours of trimming, these two plants are now naked of leaves and hanging up to dry.

- Wet weights: bagseed - 130 grams, Dreamtime - 120 grams.....total: 250 g wet... if we lose the projected 80% of the weight after drying, we'll come in with just under 2 ounces dry. I'm hoping these won't lose quite that much, but we'll see. I think they're a bit more dense than last time so maybe we won't lose as much as that.

- Check out these pics of the first part of this grow's harvest!! The first 3 pics are the bagseed plant, the nest 4 are the Dreamtime plant and the last is a shot of them hanging. :leaf:

great looking harvest man!

Thanks Drella - it's was kinda meager, but this bagseed plant was from a seed I personally pulled from my own stash. I didn't expect much from it and it indeed turned out to be a small harvest. The Dreamtime plant was a $4 seed from Mr.Nice that turned out a really nice main cola and smells a bit like grape soda...can't wait to taste her!!

I've started a new journal for my Vanilla Kush grow now as well - check it out at the below link!!!

Lots of room in the tent now for the RD gals to spread out and finish out. It looks like they are going to need until the end of next week before I start flushing. The topped plant still looks a bit behind the other two but not by more than 1 week or so...

I noticed some leaves are turning a dark color..I think it's a dark purple - my wife thinks they look almost dark red...take a look at the pics and see for yourself! :weed:

Did you get your tent online? If so where?

I bought that tent online on ebay. I'm in Canada, so it was bought through a Canadian hydro supplier that was advertising and auctioning items on there - it was about $280, not too bad.

Here we are at the end of week 10 - the 2 bigger RD plants are scheduled to come down this coming weekend as they've now received their major flush this evening and will be left for the rest of way. The 3rd RD just received a regular watering and will likely get flushed mid-week or by the end of the week.

Enjoy the pics!

Okay, 2 out of 3 of the RD plants have been chopped, trimmed and are now drying. The two plants names are 'Queen' and 'Ruby'. Here's some pictures that were taken during the harvest. I'll follow up with a few more pics of the last plant's harvest in a few weeks as well...

Wet Weights:

Queen: 206g
Ruby: 208g

Here's the last Red Dragon plant which i've now named 'Red Castle' or 'Castle' for short. This is the plant that was topped and thus looks like it has many 'spires' like a castle...

The plan is to harvest this plant tomorrow evening before lights on... but if I miss that time, i'll have to do it later on this week sometime. The buds have finished up nicely and should be yielding a little over an ounce as well...by the look of them. =) Take a look a the pics and see! =) :leaf: :weed: :leaf:

EDIT: Dry weights for the first two Red Dragon plants:

Queen: 40 g dry = 1.43 oz
Rubie: 41 g dry = 1.46 oz

...so just under 3 oz for those 2 plants = not too bad, enough for us to last until our next harvest! We only need enough for my wife and I to smoke, so this is plenty of product for us to enjoy! Nothing quite like a little HG!!
