yeah that's really weird how some plants can look so good but lack so much. Not from a growing point of course, but I've smoked weed that looked truly beautiful, with sweet dank smells, that didn't even get me high! But what you say about the Lemon Skunk, I hope doesn't happen with my White Rhino. It's looks like I'm gonna have 2x as much Northern Lights, and even though I haven't smoked either yet, the White Rhino just seems really dank and I know i'll smoke it up faster lolOddly, the plants that were the frostiest off the ones I grew were the weakest.
Look at my Lemon Skunk - 1\2 of the plants DIED with the same treatment others recieved and flourished. They yield TERRIBLY. They have no vigor at all. BUT the product is FIRE. Even that its really not my type of high (electrifying type of high) I can't deny its DANK.
I have a friend willing to pay 50% more on the Lemon Skunk than on my other strains. Oddly, I don't sell weed so when its done its done no matter how much money he is willing to spend but you get my drift.
lol i know huh! I might have to stake a few of them up soon, some of the Northern Lights are toppling over!wow.. those buds are MASSIVE man... lol. cant wait to see those babies all chopped down.. hope u got a machete to cut them down. lol
Look at my Blue Mystic for example - it yields awsome, it looks and smell amazing, its covered in trichomes but the high lasts only a hour or so and the ceiling is really low while the tollerance buildup is real quick.yeah that's really weird how some plants can look so good but lack so much. Hey sneekpunk, I was thinking that you might have too much bud for one person to chop and trim when it comes time to harvest. I think it would be best if you invited us over to help you, haha. It would be rude to just sit here and watch you do all that work by yourself, lol.
lol i wish you guys could help me trim AND smoke! i'm gonna have my hands full doing bothsonar, what the heck are you talking about?
chopping and trimming is nothing. its not something that requiers all that man power.
however, it really would be rude to let him do all the really hard work of blazing all of thoes buds! Thats the thing we should help him with!
you know, i'm thinking about chopping a few more right before i go and leave a couple in the closet till i get back. I'm just worried cause it's getting hotter everyday here, and i don't know if my brother can manage the temps (he's a little forgetful) and if he forgets the close the door a couple times or something, they could get really stressed. But yeah that said i might leave some in there maybe even as an experiment or something.Don't forget to get the weight.
You could use another 2 weeks with your crops. I know its odd but if they pack weight you should be just fine with the waiting
As your plants growing behind schedual you should really look for bananas popping. If you see a banana - pluck it. If you see more than a few - chop the plant.
Your trimming looks great. When you trim don't touch the buds too much so you won't knock off too many trichomes. And use unpowdered latex gloves.
After you get some resin buildup on the gloves put them in the freezer. When your done trimming and jarring pull the gloves and strech the finger parts. What drops is a very pure finger hash - my favorite hash.
yeah that sounds good, i was thinking if i left any, i'd raise the light considerably. I've never heard of secondary-flowering, but that sounds highly likely to me now that you mention it. Cause some of them look pretty swelled. And i checked the trichs on a couple last night, they were looking actually pretty cloudy with some ambers even. The plants I looked at still had white pistils too so i think you're right. I tried to fix all the light leaks but i might have done got to it too late. Oh well it's all fixed now so if i have the same problem next grow we'll know it wasn't the lights. When they finish swelling they don't need much light, you could place it higher so heat is less of an issue.
Also they are finishing their life-cicle, you can stress them a bit if you watch for the bananas.
If you want a really indica high (if you don't - don't bother with your strains again) letting it get to 30-40% amber trichomes is good. Thats what I do.
A few percent higher is fine.
You will get more yield and more couch lock.
When I look again at your pictures it kind of looks like secondary flowering - something that happens due to light leaks mainly, from my experience.
If so you could chop your plants now.
I'll probably be able to be more acurate with a few macro pictures of the buds.
If the pods swolen enough you can, and probably should harvest.
Its just that it doesn't make sense to me that your Northern Light have so many living pistils at this age. It will take thoes about 4 weeks to ripen if I have to guess.
yeah man it's insane! but i think it might be secondary flowering like mcfonz said so it is my fault. but haha yeah i agree i certainly don't want to post when i get home saying " yeah they all died, my room smells like rotting buds" haha. I think I'm gonna do a last trich check and chop the ones that look most ready. There's 1 for sure i know still has clear trichs so i'll leave that along with maybe one other and just raise the light and hope for the best.wow man.. i cant believe they've been flowering that long!! thats fuckin crazy! i thought for sure they'd be done by now!
if i was you.. i would cut them not too.. rather cut'em too early.. and risk losing all your hard work... =/ thats just my opinion.. maybe leave one in there just for an experiment lik eu said.. but they looks really good. even tho theyre still pushin out sum white hairs. i think they would be fine to smoke now.
the norther lights plant u chopped looks good! that 1 look like its just about finished in my opinion. have u smoked a sample yet? maybe u should try sum... see if u like the high and then decide wether or not to cut the. =)
i just dont wanna see you lose all those beautiful plants... i would hate to check back and see a message with a big sad face like...... =( look wat happened to my plants.. shoulda harvested them b4 i left.
well regardless.. the plants look great man. keep up the great work!! wats next for ur next grow??
It take 3-4 weeks until THC starts to degrade. Not a few days.2the plants could OVERr ripen.. and once they get to a certain point.. they start losing THC.. and say it reaches that point a few days after he leaves.. then by the time he gets back.. they will have already lost alotta potency. =/
and he said he was worried his brother wouldnt be able to manage the temps.. and hes worried that it might get too hott.. and kill them that way.. or maybe stress them out and make them pop out bannana's..
Could you get some macro shots of the buds?yeah that sounds good, i was thinking if i left any, i'd raise the light considerably. i've read a few things that say THC degrades after the harvest peak... read this thread.. aboput 4 or 5 posts down.It take 3-4 weeks until THC starts to degrade. Not a few days.
Could you get some macro shots of the buds?
And when you inspect the buds for trichomes color look at the parts benith the white pistils, where the brown ones are.
