I think the plant stops growth at 50F. You could bring them in at night.

Ive been putting my plants out during the day for the warm sun and bring them in at night under florecents.....they will soon be full time outside once it gets warm enough at night...

i start inside. get them about three feet tall and put them out last week of may. they can handle the cold. all the way down to 32. its just a matter of how long they are there. i have knocked snow off my plants in early october and let em go another week. i have also had broken plants in the last week of september, crushed by the weight of snow. shit, i've had a mite riddled plant outside for a week trying to kill off the mites. i was happy when i saw frost on the garage roof this morning. plant looks great. bet those lil fuckers froze.

ive been kepping mine in the garage under florescent tubes.....i know not the best.....and when its nice i put it outside.....wish it would stop raining and the sun would come out...so far only got about 7 days of true sunlight and 2 months of florescent light.....but its doing great....10 inches tall..its been topped so gonna have 4 colas....and transplanted to a 12 inch pot today with fox farms forest ocean......

I put 11 one month old clones in the ground 06/12/10. (6) lemon skunk (3) white widow/g13 (1) purple lady (1) power kush.

Its been shitty weather here in MT but i managed to find a sunny day to get them outside.

I tilled the soil, as best i could sliding in the mud the day before and dug out the holes in which to plant the clones.

I mixed miracle grow organic potting soil, top soil, and worm castings to fill in around the root system. and added worm castings to the last 2 inches of each hole.

It proceded to rain/hail/blow for the next 3 days strait. The plants went into shock, as expected.

The first two mornings i walked outside and half of them were blown over. I propped them back up with dowells and eventually got tomato cages to put over top of each one so they have support. This has worked great. Probably saved half my plants.

When the sun finally came out the plants reacted positivly and have grown almost 25% larger in the last week.

I have been using thrive alive and buddha grow sparingly as not to burn the plants.

What ever it is its probably a hermie and thats why you got seeds. keep a close eye out for bannanas

montana is a great state for outdoor growing. its just not really somewhere to do anything that you cant tend to often cause of temp changes and deer and whatnot. but i have been having a lot of success. except for the un usual amount of rain lately.

My crop looks great outside! Have some in 65, 30, and 20 gallon smart pots. Fence fully surrounding it to keep critters out and set up way in the mountains. Despite the heavy precipitacious year, all is well! I have 10 durban poison, 3 master kush, some afgooey, romulin, and trinity out there loving life! Started indoor back in March and totally loving the big sky!! The trin might not finish until October, but that one is an experiment. Good growing to the fellow Montanans!

I would like to say something first here.. Montana is a beautiful place with beautiful weather. One thing to consider though, before reading all the generalized information, is our localized weather... For instance, if you look at the historical frost dates, Billings has 25 more days between the first and the last frost than Bozeman (140) miles west. Three Forks, Montana(30 miles from Bozeman) has 20 additional days than Bozeman. Even on a smaller scale, there are certain geographical features which can dictate the frosts, and the weather patterns. I have seen some vegetable gardens at the mouth's of canyons, that don't frost til October due the wind, and the surround mountains... Look at what side of the valley you are on, talk to some local horticulturists...

A great state eh, short growing season, and the flowering periods hardly allow anything to finish..... Extra measures are neccesary.. Keeping the roots warm is big, especially in potted plants.... Hope all is well.....
