I was watching the daily show a few weeks ago and it was saying the companies that were supposed to regulate the offshore sites are RUN by the oil companies so basically the industry was regulating itself with no real Government regulation. because dont think the EPA really has any authority...
Then they showed the malfeasance reports and like exxon had like 4 infractions and BP had easily over a hundred this is sickening

uh no, I'd say the US government has them by the balls bro.
how the fuck else could it be? we're only keeping them around because they have the tools to get the job done.
we basically have complete control over them . . . they pull some shit, we make them pay more. if they act like they're not going to co-operate, we'll take control over them.
but they are co-operating . . . and the fact is we don't have ANYONE ELSE to help us . . . . no other oil companies are stepping up, the US government didn't have such ways to deal with this, this is literally our only option.

I truely dont understand the criminal ways of our government to continue to let people like BP rule this world and then destroy it whenever it feels like it. We need to REALIZE and truely accept that FACT that this is the only planet we can inhabit! IT IS NOT OURS! We humans have not been in the BIG PICTURE all that long. We have already found ways to be SAFER and MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY, but NO we want to make a BUCK ( which is only a removable thing). We dont care who or what we kill on our path to making a fucking dollar.
In reality we cant take a FUCKING SINGLE PENNY with us when its our time to go. We really need to care about the people ( our kids) who are left behind to deal with our utterly stupid mistakes. WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED EVERY OIL SPILL. If we could make hemp ethenol IT WOULD SIMPLY EVAPORATE if it ever hit any waters!
Its truely sad to see what this world has come to all over a dollar and fancy clothes and yacts. We need to live along side Mother Nature and not in ways that are against or are harming this planet. We are killing the very things that sustain our lives on this planet and we are smiling the whole way into our graves with pockets full of USELESS CASH!!!

It's not that easy. Just because you go to a BP gas station, doesn't mean you are getting "BP Gas." Similarly, if you go to say a Shell station, you could be getting BP gas.
