Growing Salvia

Mostly, I'm just interested in opinions here... I'm thinking about growing an S. Divinorum plant at home. It's becoming kinda hard to find where I live and I'd like to have a source for the future. Also, if you've grown it, is it worth the trouble, or should I just stock up on extracts and ration my stuff? Because I know firsthand, some plants are just not worth the effort; even if it is technically feasible. Like poppies, they're lots of work, lots of time, and very little reward unless you grow a shit ton of 'em. Or phalaris, it's hella easy to grow, but because of the quantities involved, it's way freakin easier just to go pick it (or better yet collect it with a bagging mower). This is like my expeirence
I have 2 plants
they only grew 5 inches science last christmass
and i havent even harvested anything

I have been growing salvia for years. It grows very fast and makes tons of leaves but it likes high humidity. Sometimes I make pot tents that keep most of the air in with some circulation but I have found that they grow fine in open air here on a windowsill or something with just a little browning around the leaf edges.

I have 6 plants or so that all came from a thumbnail sized cutting way back. Depending on where you live (legality) I could probably send you a cutting or a rooted plant for a small fee.

How much do you need to yield in leaves compared to an extract one would buy? Is it worth it to grow it an just chew on a bunch of the leaves or is there more involved?

You can chew the leaves as a "quid," I think that's the most traditional method. Coca leaves are used in much the same manner, with a little added lime (like the soil additive) to release the goodies.

when i was a junior in high school a sophomore made an extract. it was the strongest extract ive tried dunno what x but it was potent.

i think its fairly easy and 1 oz put onto 1 gram of leaf will be 28x. get it?

25 leaves = one trip, you can make the extract. I have Salvia plants, I would be willing to trade cuttings for money or more preferably seeds of other plants.

They do like high humidity but can be acclimated to the humidity in your house once they have enough roots.

It depends where you live, if you live in a subtropic climate it is 100% worth it, if not its just a fun pass time. Like growing tomatoes , Yeah you can put a pop bottle over top of them or a see through bag to increase humidity.
