My first indoor grow, should I cut fan leaves?

dont cut the fan leaves, or they are the source of the fruits........sugars from leaves create fruit........cut them off and youll have low yeild, been there, done that, dont do it!!

it's always around 75 degrees in the box and about 78-79 inside the dome. and yes, I do open 3-4 times a day and spray the lid before I put it back on. I only have it open for a few minutes though, How long should I leave it open? I'm going to stop using the MG product and go back to regular rootone. I know many of the MG products are not cannabis friendly... I'm going out now to get some more 6500k bulbs and switch them out tonight. I really felt they should have a veg spectrum but once again I read somewhere to use soft white. It didn't make sense to me but I went with it... goes to show, believe half of what you read and nothing you hear.lol

if you head over to walmart, you should have the selection i just recently chose from. What you want to aim for is the "Daylight 6500k" bulbs. pretty sure they're by "GE". They come in a few flavors of wattage. I bought the 100w equivalent (26actual watts) came in a 2 pack, for 7&change.

Better yet, here's a pic of the exact one i got:
NOTE: Pay attention to the lumens in this pic. "1600" Lumens.
You want to look for the highest watt (actual) and lumens you can find there.

sweet, I just got home from the store and bought those exact ones, I bought mine at true value. I should have gone to walmart, could have saved $4.... Rollback!!! lol In fact these are the same bulbs I use for my veg. cabinet.

I apologize to you for that nonsense, it's kind of a bummer to come in to a room and be judged so harshly for asking the advice of the obvious experts here.

Anyone who wants to bash a new grower for thinking out loud should remember when they were green and this was all new to them too. I love this forum for the free exchange of ideas and because one person has a thought and seeks advice from the thousands of people who've been there and done that in no way means they're stupid, dumb, ignorant etc.

I don't lose any sleep at all over guys like geen pool! they kind of make me laugh out loud... I trully believe there are far more good people signed up to this forum than there are assholes. With that said I am already sooooo excited for my next grow. I have made a few mistakes in my first grow but I feel I will get some decent results from what I have growing now. I am shocked on the results so far from my new LED light. It has only been one week with it on and I think my plants look alot better than they did a week ago. but that is another day in another thread....

And the leaves are looking much better now... It must have been insufficent lighting, because i didn't give them any extra nutes or air. just more light. I'll keep updates coming on those blues though!!

Switch to superthrive man you can get it at wal shart. It's about $10 but you success rate will be closer to 90% & it's an awesome additive for your entire veg growth stage as well. It gives you really strong thriving root systems in soil or hydro.

Cause i have been told by several people, when the plant is in dark cycle, it must get ZERO light for the time it has to be in it's dark cycle. Just a heads up man!

Made some interesting reading this thread. I personally trim "some" fan leaves later in the flowering cycle and, like the OP, first did this with 2 identical plants to test. The plant which was left alone did slightly less well than the plant which was trimmed, the strength, taste and size of buds was identical on both plants.

It doesnt hurt to be too analytical for sure, at least in my opinion (someone who has been growing since the start of the year and has now pulled 5 out of flower so far, with a perpetual cycle running). I have been a complete geek and it has worked out well for me.

My only negative comment would be that from the pics your plants are lacking energy, looking a little stringy; Personally I would get more light in there (maybe a couple more 2700k CFLS) but it could be a genetic factor for all I know.

Good luck with your grow, I'm always interested in the results using LED and will keep an eye on this.

I did this very thing. Just seconds after the light went out I snapped 4-5 photos and quickly closed the door. I have friends that have done this in the past with no problems. having an LED light the photos are terrible to see when it is on. so i would rather wait till it goes out than shut it off just to take a photo. they look in better today though. what a fantastic hobbie this turned out to be... i got into this just for the smoke, now I have fun taking care of them!
