To air cool or not to air cool

Im trying to make my final decision on reflectors today, and Im waffling on the air cooled model. Does a cool tube make a big difference in heat reduction? Im growing in a closet so heats gonna be an issue im sure of it. If so, whats the best way to hook up an air cooled tube to cool it down best?

I flower in a closet w/ a 400 watt HPS that I cool....the temperature difference is noticeable....I use a 4 inch inline fan to pull out and another to push air into the hood.....my plants can just about touch the glass without burning.

I tried it without the hood and fans and the temps got too hot real fast.

Thats good to hear. I was worried that a 400 watt might not be strong enough, but if your plants can get that close to the light without burning I guess you wouldnt lose to much lumens right?

Thanks, a yes from you makes my decision easy.
