Love's Perpetual DWC Combo Grow

Hello all, welcome to my journal. Comments are welcome, but lets try to stay grow related if possible. Here's a quick overview of my garden:

I run a 6 bucket perpetual DWC system. 3 in veg, 3 in flower in accordance with Colorado's Amendment 20 medical marijuana laws.

I use a 4ft 4 bulb T5 fixture for vegging and a 600w HPS/MH for flowering.

I use Humbolt's Master A & B nutrient system (Master A, Master B, Cal, Mag, Ginormous) along with some Superthrive, Potassium Silicate, and Dutch Master's Penetrator and Liquid Light.

My perpetual cycle is a 9 week veg/9 week flower cycle. Every time I harvest something at the end of the cycle I introduce a clone or a seedling into the beginning of the cycle. This allows to me to be growing 6 different strains at once or 3 repeating.

Since my strains are always changing I'm going to leave this first post as is and introduce the girls in the next one. Enjoy!

Ok so right now I have a Strawberry Cough that is entering it's 6th week of flower and a Durban Poison that is entering it's 3rd week of flower. I have a Darkstar clone that is revegging and three unsexed TGA seedlings that I just put into 12/12 to sex last night. They are 2 Qleaner and 1 Vortex. Judging by growth rates I'm predicting at least 1 of the Qleaners is a male. Whichever of the 3 is the largest female will stay in the tent and any other females will be revegged and any males will be continue to be flowered elsewhere until pollen can be collected.

At the moment the perpetual is slightly more chaotic due to the unsexed plants but it will be adapted depending on what genders I get from the 3 TGA seedlings. I'll keep ya'll posted!

And here's some pics! The file name at the bottom right on each pic indicates what the picture is of. DS is Darkstar, Q1 is the first Qleaner, while Q2 is the second Qleaner, SC is Strawberry Cough, so on and so forth

Also worth mentioning that I topped the 3 TGA seedlings above the 4th node and my cat topped the Durban Poison, not sure which node she picked, little shit

Here's a few shots of right after that happened. I wasn't planning on topping but after the cat started the trend, I figured I'd give it a shot. They bushed out nicely I think!

Alrighty here's a group shot from the flowering tent. The Darkstar is all lonely under the T5 by herself while her TGA buddies get sexed.

Starting bottom left is DP, top left is V1, middle is SC, top right is Q1, bottom right is Q2. Last night was the TGA seedlings 3rd night in 12/12 so hopefully I start to see signs of sex in the next week or two

I must say that you have a good grow on your hands. lookin great. Im def. subbed. i really want to see this one.

i have had some great experiences with topping plants. i had a papaya i called four way after topping it. i topped it right above the second node and it ended up filling an entire 7 gal pot put was only 5 inches tall.

Thanks man! The SC comes down on Sept 26, the DP comes down on Oct 17. After that I'm not really sure since the TGA aren't sexed yet. The largest female that shows will be coming down 2-3 weeks after the DP. These unsexed seedlings have really wreaked havoc on my perpetual and in the future I'm gonna have to explore other ways of establishing sex before they're fed into the cycle. Starting seeds into 12/12 and revegging is an option, as is only using fem'd seeds. I've got a nice stash of fem'd beans waiting to be popped if/when I find some males. If all 3 TGA seedlings are male, I'm fucked! Haha but that probably won't happen. So stay tuned, something new will be entering the garden in the next week or two when I find out which are males and need to be replaced.

This is my first go around with topping. I always do some type of LST/supercropping training as I like my ladies bushy. Usually the tent only has 3 plants in it so they have a lot more room to spread out. Papaya is a strain that's on my wish list too. A friend of mine posts some AWESOME pics of his flowering. I just gotta be patient and keep with the perpetual. It's the best opportunity to get the most strains harvested in the shortest amount of time. Soon enough!

I can't take on any more strains right now! I've got like 10 waiting in the wings to be fed into my perpetual. I don't even know which to crack first. It's between Barneys Violator Kush, Barneys Acapulco Gold, and Greenhouse Arjans Strawberry Haze.

Papaya is on the list though, I'll look into that Satori!

Ok so Sundays are res change/journal update nights! So technically if I were following my perpetual schedule tonight would be an "action night." Basically means something would be getting harvested, something would be moving into flower, and something would be getting cloned. However since I have certain slots filled with unsexed seedlings that I got antsy with and already switched to 12/12, tonight was just a res change.

So SC is entering week 7, DP is entering week 4, and the 3 TGA seedlings are entering week 2.

The 3 seedlings are starting to show flowers, but I can't determine the sex yet. I've been doing a lot of inspecting and I was pretty sure that the Vortex was a girl, but today I'm not so sure. The 2 Qleaners are still total mysteries aside from their completely different growth rates (1 fast, 1 slow) and I think in a few more days it'll start becoming more obvious who's what.

As you can see in the pics, the SC is starting to look hungry, so I upped her food.

The DS clone that was supposed to be revegging wasn't doing a whole lot so I did something. I'd been reading other threads I could find that covered revegging and I decided that I needed to remove the buds that had formed on it. DoeEyed mentioned she had a Chronic clone that didn't seem to want to reveg until she clipped the bud off it. Also found this to be the case in another journal where Old Gray Hair tried a few reveg methods. Evidently the new leaves need places to grow out of and they won't if there's a bud there. So I clipped as much bud off as possible and we'll see what happens!

I think that about covers everything, here's some pics! I'll have a DS shot tomorrow, but her lights went out just as I finished everything so there was no chance to photograph her.

Hey there Colorado just happened upon your journal.... I remember you from last winter when I was growing out some of subcools strains.

I'm pretty familiar with the dif Qleaner and Vortex phenos...Hope you get some females, I'll be watching and keep my fingers crossed for ya :)

Hey Highlander, definitely remember your journal man! Your grows were part of the reason I chose the strains I did. Any chance you have that JillyBean pic with the name Jillybean down one side and the number of days into flower it was written on the other? The plant was like a rainbow of colors. I can't remember if it was your pic or not, but it was in your journal and it's the reason I got JillyBean! Haven't popped her yet but that pic looked SO DELICIOUS!

You got anything going at the moment? Shoot me a link

Here's a shot of the DS after her "haircut." I got most of the buddage clipped off and she should be ready to start growing some new leaves!

She looks wimpy but just wait! I'm confident she'll take off

Hey Colorado, no journal going but I have been meaning to start one, thinking this week maybe. Now that the temps around here are dropping and fall is just around the corner I can catch my breath and spend more time in my gardens. I run them perpetually so its usually full. Blueberry is pretty much a mainstay, been running Ice for quite a while but I am going to cut back on that strain quite a bit after this run as it is a sativa cut and such a pain to trim and a little too potent lol. Narrowed the tga strains down to two indicas....a qleaner qnd a void, and two sativas...... a vortex and a qleaner.

Waiting on some seeds by the breeder Chimera. Tried to get one of his strains called Mental Floss, but Ive been a little to late as they seem to sell out quick. Ordered a couple of strains called C-4 and Calizar instead.

Later man, good to hear from you and good luck tga stuff being female!

Thanks for the positive female vibes! I'm pretty certain my giant Qleaner is a boy unless the other Qleaner is just a runt. From what I've seen in other journals sub's male to female ratio seems to be female dominant, so I've got that working for me.

Pop in here and drop me a link when you get your journal started, it sounds like you've got some sick stuff to work with. I've smoked Blueberry and Ice from dispensaries around here but never any of sub's gear other than Jack the Ripper. The rest of the stuff you mentioned I've never even heard of! Gonna have to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Yeah I'm pretty sure that pic of the jilly was smokinmayne's...I just tried to find it in the tga growers club thread but all of his photos had been moved or deleted. and I can not look it up in my old journal haha because subcool deleted the entire thread. Needless to say I do not have too many nice things to say about the guy but I ended up with one or two phenos that will continue on. I can give you an idea of what the qleaner and vortex phenos are like as I had 5 dif phenos of each.

And I'm thinking that you have a green thumb CL and know what your doing.....that little DS girl will be just find :)

What up CL? Nice start.
Dude if you can get some JTR I strongly suggest it.
I got to smoke a joint of Donkey's and holy shit it's bomb.
His was anyway but he's got crazy skills.
For your perpetual why not use the femmed seeds and take clones?
Well I guess you want a few males though right?
Dude I'd love to breed my Chronic with your SC "Chronic Cough"

What up chain! It's funny you bring that up because the rest of my beans are fems. I got the TGA stuff cause I wanted to grow it out, but it doesn't come fem'd so that's why we're in this sexing seedlings boat! The Violator or Vanilla Kush that I pop will be fem'd. But I can't pop them til I find out which boys need to be removed.

Mmmmm Chronic Cough... or Strawberry Chronic? Chronic Strawberry?

Alrighty so I've been informed I need to get some shots of nodes lower on the plants to ACCURATELY sex these things. Those will come this evening when my lights come on!
