Plasma Lamps

I often hear people say Plasma lamps are going to be the wave of the future, usually as a response to someone else saying LED are the wave of the future. But I've never seen one for sale (or seen one period actually.). Are plasma lamps for sale to the public? If so where can I buy them?

Technically, fluorescents are plasma lights, but the only other kind that I have heard of (for sale) are the plasma globes, and they wouldn't seem to be too efficient.

You can find a couple of growers playing around with them on on youtube but I have looked all over and cant seem to find anything. They look badass! No heat!

from what ive seen, plasma will be the light of the future...but ive never actually seen any results from them...plasma lighting is still kinda new and very expensive. there is a thread somewhere on here and they have a link to a site selling plasma light setups. just search for plasma lights (in titles only) and you should find it.

Did you notice the (for sale) part that I posted. I'm not disputing HEP being an effective means of lighting in the future, but if you can't buy it right now, it doesn't really help you out.

The plasma lights that people are referring to are really hard to find, but by far they are producing 5times the amount of useable lumens compared to hid or led lights.

Yes they are the wave of the future, but like all early technology, they are expensive, and not perfected yet.
