Maybe so, but we all know that when we say "resin" we're talking about the black goo that accumulates in our pipes. Bong resin in just ash goo. That's worthless. The tar that gets caught up in the bong stem though can be pretty good. I like to sit on my high horse too and say " I don't smoke resin cause I'm too sophistacated." I would venture to say that there isn't a pot smoker on this site that hasn't ran out of weed who didn't start to eyeball the goo that accumulated in their pipes with appreciation of the possibilities. When I had no smoke and no hope of getting any, I would smoke the hell out of that resin. I even used to clean my pipes and one hitter and save back the resin for those rainy day when it was better than nothing. Some resin gets me high as fuck and other times not so much. Every stoner, every true pot head stoner that is, has smoked resin. If you say you haven't then we all know that your only lying to yourself.

i have never smoked 'resin' from a pipe or bong stem, i have scraped the shit out of grinders and spent literally hours picking tiny flakes of bud out of the carpet.
It's nothing to do with sophistication, or not being a 'true' stoner, i just find the idea repulsive

To each their own. The amount of resin in your pipe that sickens you is nothing compared to what is already in your lungs because you made that pipe resin.

Seems to me like kind of the same deal with people that don't understand where their meat comes from and get all PETA on the thought of slaughter houses, but in reality eat beef 3x a week.

I clean it before every smoke. I buy the biggest container of isopropyl alcohol they sell at the drug store and a tube of coarse sea salt. Less than $5 for the both of them.

Before I fill the bong with water I pour in some alcohol and salt (vinegar too if there is any scaling from the water). Shake, and dump into a coffee cup where my bowl is. Let the bowl soak while I am rinsing the bong then I fill with water and ice. Take a qtip and clean the bowl and rinse. Take my pipe cleaner and put it in my downtube and pour the alcohol in the stem and give it a few scrubs. Rinse it off and assemble the now ice cold bong. Start to finish it is about 2 minutes.

It is so easy to clean a bong when you keep it clean - it is just habit now.
