What is a good way to tell when your plants are ready to start being flushed? ive done some research and found some pictures to compare to but im still unsure. I would take some pictures to show you guys where im at but my camera recently broke. Im 72 days into flowering.

im not sure, they were some seeds my friend gave me. The problem is i dont know exactly when im gonna harvest, this is my first real grow and im kind of playing it by ear and judging what to do by when the plants look ready for the next step.

then its up to you ,72 days your prbly close to harvest either way get a pocket microscope and check the trichs if they are cloudy do 2 week flush and harvest

alright so that is pretty much the best way to tell is to get a real good look at the trichs. do the amber hairs indicate at all when it may be time?

indica or sativa? either way about two weeks before you plan to harvest

I also flush exactly 2 weeks before I put mine into darkness for 72 hours. Even if you don't give them darkness before harvest, I say flush 2 weeks prior to chop just to make sure you get all the soluble salts out without making them go too long without nutes during those final days of resin production. I tend to hear anywhere between 1-3 weeks, and there are still plenty of people who simply don't bother flushing at all.

I deffinently plan to flush for about 2 weeks. i plan on changing the water in my reservoir tonight so im trying to figure out if i should keep giving it nutes or start flushing. Im just really unsure if its prime time or not. They look about done but i had no expected date of harvest and i feel they have to get flushed for a bit before i chop em. I have no microscope and tonight is my only chance for a few days to change out my water, so im just looking for any indication that it may be time.

So is flushing just plain water? Or do you add any nutes at all, i.e bloomers or molasses? Im currently at week 6 flowering on bubbleberry and lemon haze. Nice thread by the way, great read!

Ive heard you can use just plain water but at my local hydro store the guy recomended to use "Final Flush" along with the water so they still can get some of the nutes they need without being cut off completely.

You can use plain water if you want. Also some folks don't flush at all and there harvests are fine. You don't flush fruits before picking why would you with weed? In any case, do as you please, my mind isn't sent until I do a comparative grow (one with a flush and one without).

Do you smoke fruits??? Man what a dumb answer you have just given!

You flush before cutting it down so it removes that harsh taste you get from all those nutes that you have been feeding it!

A good idea is not to water for a week before harvest after the flush, speeds up drying!:-P

Flushing thoroughly before harvest also reduces curing time.
It helps to begin positive metabolic processes turning any remaining CBG which is a non-physco active component of THC into THC.

And as the metabolic processes continue in curing the conversion of cannabergol(CBG) to tetrahyrdocannabinol (THC) will continue and the potency will increase!:weed:

No but you eat them...you'd taste a chemical in them or smell a chemical in them. I'm not entirely convinced flushing is key. It seems more like opinionated theories than an exact science to say you have to flush.
