Ebb and flow set up questions

still debating what mediums to use, either 6 inch rochwool blocks, or hydroton, with cocomat with small rockwool blocks on top....... id really like to use soem sort of coco medium without it being too espensive, any suggestions?

1000 watt hps light 4x4 table, i would ideally like to get 40 clones on the table, veg for only 1-2 weeks max, lollipop and maybe top a few, so basically 1-2 colas per plant, big colas..... will be growing mostly indica hybrid......

is around 30 ounces doable? about 20 grams per plant?

again id really like to try some kind of coco medium, but not sure how to incorporate into an ebb and flow..

Thanks guys!

If you are using a Ebb n Flow, flood and drain table....I like to use 8" Coco pots, and fill them with a combination of 1/2 uncompressed coco "canna" and perlite...We have been experimenting also with adding silica to the mix...
Check out ALBFUCT, I think that is his screen name on this site...He will share alot of great info to ya! GL
BTW, the coco pots work great!

a little more info about the coco pots please, this is exactly the kind of ideas i was looking for!!

i have a ton of questions that i havent been able to answer!

does the coco pot go into a plastic pot? then get filled with coco/perlite mix? ive seen coco liners, but not actual pots....... link maybe? also does the coco clog the drains at all? am i still able to move the pots? like do the roots grow out of them? how often do you flood in a system like that, i would imagine less than 1-2 times a day?

also is my estimate of 40 lollipopped clones yealding about 20 grams a plant feasable on a 4x4 table?

Yeah this work well, and you don't need to use a plastic net pot with them. If you don't over fill the pot, then you will not get any coco in your tables or Res. Yes you can move the pots at any time. Yes the roots grow out of them, but by the time they do, you will have a fat canopy to shade the roots. You can flood as much as twice per hour, I like every 3 hours.. I would hope on 1/2 a gram per Watt for your first grows... You can fit about 25 pots in a 4x4 tray...and get about 1oz off each plant....So if you do it right, you can yield alot! Do you have room for a second table?

hahaha this is hella funny

you know what?

cuz im doing the EXACT same thing.

for my flood tables...i think imma do it in layers.

at the bottom layer it will be just hydroton, then a coco mat prolly the 1"er....im not sure about the 1/4" and 1/8"...so ill just use 1" thick cocomats

on top of my coco mats, i will sit the coco pots on the mats.

canna coco will be inside the coco pots with maybe a few hydroton at the bottom.

yes, i have room for another table..... i was thinking of buying an 8x4 table... but then i would need 2 1000 watts......could i get away with less wattage?
i really like the idea of these cocotek pot liners filled with coco in the table....this seems perfect for my needs. they dont degrade at all with the water?

could i get away with 6 inch pots if i will only be vegging for a short time? and therefore fit more plants on my table? or does size of the plants also come into factor on how many plants i can fit on a table?

at this point is the cocomat even needed if using 8 inch pots, i like the pots because you cam move the plants around!

im not sure...

i just know i want my mediums separated so i use the coco mat.

the roots love that humidity below that coco mat

fresh clones in flower put into rapidrooter or coco starter plugs filled with canna coco in 3" coco pots

roots wont start to come out the pot (on a fresh clone) til about week 4...by that time they will be at the end of the line and it wont matter if i cant move the cocopots(because of the roots growing into the cocomat) because they will be ready to harvest in a few anyway

ouuch, 8 inch cocotek pot liners are 3 $ each?!? or 3 $ for a pack of 10?

i need something a little cheaper, maybe i will go for the 3 inch pots, with hydroton and a cocmat under like loudblunts......

if all the roots mix together under the table does that cause a problem? i know when growing in earth you should keep all the roots seperated.....

I get them for 2 bucks each, so in all, I would spend about 3 bucks with coco, perlite, and silica chunks.... I like using Coco cubes also, I get them for 3 bucks, and they are ready to go...Just add water and you cutting and you are done...I like those for mom plants.

yea i recycle coco too, but not the pots.... pots will break down after a few years. i only plan on using for only 1 year, maybe even 6 months.... depends..

and coco makes grass and plants look lovely!
