I NEED HELP! I AM USING TOP LIGHT: 6500K CFL AND SIDE LIGHTS: 4-5500K (each bulb). IF I BRING MY LIGHTS THAT CLOSE, THE TEMP. GOES REALLY HI UP, OVER 100 DEGREES! HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE MY SETUP IN A CLOSET AND MY LIGHTS ARE 10 INCHES AWAY FROM THE PLANT! AT THAT DISTANCE I HAVE 90 DEGREES AND I THINK THAT IS HI, NO? I AM USING A FAN ON MEDIUM AND STILL IT HOLDS THAT 90 TEMP! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

BEST ANSWER WILL GET ++REP

you need a fan and some way to exhaust the hot air if you don't it's not going to get any better. How big is your box?
Its actually a closet grow! size 7 foot ceiling, 40 inch width and 22 depth! If I keep the closet door open will it be sufficient enough?

so the bathroom fan just moves the air inside the closet?

no fresh air?

if thats so, thats no good and the reason for your temps and likely to cause problems down the line.

you need fresh air.

i have a 400w HPS closet grow & it never gets that high. I have a 16" wall mount fan blowing right ON the reflector/light & of course some hits the plants. I dont have an inline fan. I also use a fan in front of the closet door for about an hour or two a day, giving extra air to all plants, & to help circulate the air around. And YES, keep the door open as much as possible, if u do all of these u should have no problem. my temps run 72-88. be more concerned about the overall look/health of ur plants then the temps.

yes i believe that would help. preferably blowing air in near the bottom, and exhausting air out near the top. i just read a thread where a guy bought a new closet door for like $40 and cut holes in it for intake and exhaust (because he rents and can't modify existing closet door).

It is essential to have both fresh air in and hot are out. Put those 2 toghether and your temp should be under control

Ok. Well I opened the doors of the closet and with one fan on medium, I got a steady 80-85 degrees when the lights are on and 40-50% Humidity! Is this good? It seems really good to me! But Why does my Plant Look So down? Is it The lights or water! She looks nice and green but ever since I put the lights, I think!
