They get bigger than 65 watts. Here's a 200 watt one.

Not sure if they get bigger.

what would u go with the 5000k or 2700k in a room for clones and light veg ? the plants then go in the big veg room
I'm kinda new to the indoor growing, I just came across those while looking around and researching.
I do know this though: CFLs have low(er) lumen to watt ratio, meaning they're less efficient than other
lighting options. You could buy a 150 watt HPS with ballast for like $65, and it is as efficient as 300 watts
worth of CFL. Check this light here: http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-FLORALUX-150w-HPS-Mini-Grow-Light.asp

To answer your 5000k or 2700k question, 5000k-6500k is for vegetative stage, and the 2700k is for flowering.
If I were to go the CFL route, I personally would get both.

Good luck!

if you do the simple math the higher wattage you go with cfl the less lumens/per watt ratio you will have. my 23w cfl's are 1500 lumens each, 3 of them is 69w and 4500 lumens

this cfl shit is all new to me i have always used 1000 watters got some new ones never used and 2 ballast that are dual for 600 watts and u know 3 of those old 1000 watters with the big white box that hum louder than my stereo i havent used in years. for veg now i got hps and that i wont give up...honest the only reason im using cfl's is for my clone closet about 3x6x8 with slotted shelving in middle... moved in with my lady and shut down shop 8 months ago but we are looking for a house like i had with more space...lol my last flower rm was 15x18 now im down to a half bedroom i sectioned off. so i just got into this cfl i really like the heat issue ,there is none really ..... anyways guys thanks for all the info and links

i was doing the math on the way home tonight for lumens and saw that also. i like in small rooms atleast more small bulbs cause i can place them unsted of one big bulb also i was writing MH or HPS on my cfl's so i knew the spectrum but now i know higher k means bud loewr k means veg little more research ill have it...15 years ago if u grew with a bulb that looked like a house bulb or told people u grew with house bulbs u would be laughed at lol how times change

Lower K is flower, higher K is veg. Bust out the eraser!

I've only grown outdoors, but when I moved, it became impractical for an outdoor grow for many factors.
I am indoors now. Once I decide what kind of set up I want and what seeds, I will begin. I have a few
smaller lights, nothing big, but something to mess around with until I do decide what to do. I'm probably
going to go with either 3 X 600 watt HPS, or 2 X 1000 HPS. And LEDs or T5s for veg and mothers.

even though im clueless on cfl's im not new to HPS/MH IMO i have used 1000s watters forever but now i prefer a few 600s insted just my opinion as for the leds i did alotta research on them cause there pricey and im not finding alotta good reports i hear there just ok for veg and they suck for flowering there are alot of videos on youtube on them plus what i read but u research u may find other answers now this was about a year ago.T5s i hear alot about and almost all good but never saw one in person and the ones i saw in books looked like flouresents with long 4 foot bulbs...i never really researched them so fuck a T5 could just be a bulb for all i know but im on alotta sites and alotta people talk good on them.

I bought my friends 90 watt LED, he grew a crop from seed to harvest with it, he got almost 3oz.
Not as good as a 400 watt HPS will do, as the claims made by the companies selling them. My friend
bought a 300 watt LED, I'm curious as to what it will do.

There is a grow journal somewhere where a guy got a 1/4 pound with a 90 watt LED, and got some of the
nicest looking buds I have seen.

Here is the journal, page 4, last post, has pics, and his yield.
http://forum.grasscity.com/advanced-growing-techniques/378954-spectra-unit-90watt-led-grow-almost-done-whe-got-buds.html
Don't get me wrong though, there are plenty of unhappy LED users I heard of, and read about.

not bad at all for 90 watts
LEDs aren't all bad. Good LEDs + Good growers = good results. Bad LEDs + bad growers = duhh.....
Same with any lighting system. A first time grower with crap Chinese LEDs from fleaBay =
a few grams at best. Does that mean all LEDs are bad?

I seen with my own eyes 81 grams from a 90 watt LED, and smoked the final product. Top notch stuff.
I wish I had pics and stuff, but this is not my grow, it was my friends, and I'm not snapping pics of someones
grow without permission, and I lack such. But, I will post pics of mine, good or bad results.

Chinese people do make some excellent food though! Chicken Sticks from the Dragon House is the best! And
the all you can eat buffet?! Coming from a true fatass, (I am a good 313LBS) stick to the food, lay off the LEDs.
