Your talking at leaste 10K in lab equipment (from what im told) and alot of chemicals that are hard to find. The actual process of the synthesis is no easy task either. Good luck

hi everyone, im just really curious about lsd (lucy) at this stage and was wondering how people make it? i mean, i know its probably dangerous as osamas beard, and you have to be a chemist and all, but how?
Nope, I looked in further. I didn`t price up the equipment but the tek I saw wasn`t as hard as the usual ones. Say about $500-$1000 worth of kit. Might be wrong nevertheless. The main point is that you get Ergotamine Tartarate from a chemist (somehow), its not too hard to get apparently used for its vasoconstricting properties as a med or w.e
Unless your very serious then its muchly beyond the average person. Your talking lots of chemicals such as organic solvents like Hydrazine etc etc Like you said, its quite dangerous due to its potency. I would say someone with good connects for chemicals with good DIY knowledge and good focus would be able to pull it off. Not worth it if you ask me, unless your the kind of person wanting to spread the wave of LSD not just for profit, but for englihtnment!! Would be a fucking good job though
I would be proud!The tek I saw was using 10g of ergotamine tartarate as starting material and getting a hefty amount of lucy at the end

The synthisis requires lots of watched chemicals and even the synthisis of the watched chemicals requires watched chemicals. Some of the proceedures involve rather hazardous substances and requires a fume hood. What scares me off is the column chromatography.
Primary precursors can be found in HBWR, Ipomoea, Claviceps, Ergot alkaloid pills, bromocriptine.
hard, but not THAT hard. I wouldn't personally play with Claviceps - it is a particularly unpleasant fungus.

People have different resources and different abilities. I am glad that someone somewhere makes it, that means that at least some amount of enlightenment using this chemical is possible.. somewhere. I used to watch The Hive just because the people there were so ingenious and inventive - even though most of them were incurably arrogant. They would talk about this sort of synthesis with a bit of awe and mystery (but they hated Uncle Fester).

I do remember seeing tek if I`m not wrong, converting LSA into LSD somehow, but uncertain about how difficult it was. Google would be a friend on that.
And also there are the hazards like canndo said. There are many unwanted ergot alkaloids which will kill you on very small doses during extraction. It will have to be proper chemist grade procedures; lab coat, no jewellery in the lab, disposable gloves, fume hood (as pointed out)... Just way too much trouble...

Gangrine, circulatory problems. You might be interested in the history of "saint anthonys fire". All of these things are pretty frightening, espeically to someone who is aware of some of the more dangerous fungus toxins.

Yea read upon Ergotism before. Forgot it was also called St. Anthonys Fire. Its pretty nasty, I mean there are just too many easier drugs to make when your talking about LSD. I would say, making LSD you would either have to be pretty un-sensible (but capable) or sensible but passionate about just this certain thing. Like a religious belief that you want to spread the wave!

Yep, I've made LSD before (in a lab), and column chromatography (on alumina) is almost a necessity to get a clean-looking product. The free base is also air- and light-sensitive (as are the salts...albeit to a lesser extent), so def not the easiest compound to produce in pure form. However, if one can get a hold of some ergotamine tartrate, it's really not that difficult to make a "dirty" batch. Might not look pretty, but I'm sure it would do the trick.

i think the biggest bit of kit you'd need would be a field to grow grain on. once you grown that contaminated it with fungus (and then regrow i think) and harvested the infected grains that would probably be the best time to look into the rest of the synthesis (or during if ya an eager beaver)
