Well where I'm from it is harsh. If you get caught growing less then a pound (up to 30 plants) you get can go to jail for up to ten years.
If you get caught growing more then a pound worth ( or over thirty plants) you can get up to life in prison - two year mandatory minimum sentence.
Fuckin Harsh.
You don't want to get caught growing in my state.

Man, you just need to know your rights and stop being so paranoid. I'm not trying to knock you or anything, but that was a pretty dumb move, cautious as it may have been.
If cops come to the door, just don't answer (like you did) and you should be fine. If a cop was there with a search warrant, he'd probably have a few of his buddies with him (SWAT to be precise) and you'd hear about one knock before you hear "POLICE! SEARCH WARRANT!" and they come busting through your door.
If you're suspected of growing, there is no way a cop is going to come by and knock to see if you'll let him in first. Hes gonna go straight for the warrant. In fact, I think just the fact that a cop showed up at your door at all is a sign that you're NOT under investigation. Cops don't like to spook their suspects, because if they throw out all their plants before they serve the warrant, they'll have no case!
Next time a cop knocks on your door, smoke a bowl or something and calm down. As long as you don't answer the door, you'll be fine. And they can't get a search warrant for a noise complaint or the smell of weed, so I wouldn't be too worried about that.
Make some hash oil, and next time, don't waste a month's work for 5 minutes of paranoia.

that may be true for a house but in an apartment complex all it takes is for the office to get a complaint about smell and they can enter with police because its not your property. in fact every lease ive ever signed says that maintenance cannot enter your apartment without a 24 hour notice unless there are suspensions of illegal activity. i looked into this before i started growing large amounts of marijuana in an apartment that i dont own. i do agree that one of last things most people will think if they are knocking on your door is "i bet this dude has a field of weed in his closet" unless you give them reason to think otherwise. still though, i dont see why people are still giving this dude shit.

Dude I got hella paranoia just as bad as you I fear that my lights when set up are going to bring attention because I live in a bad side of town and when the hydro bill goes up it brings that oh fuck feeling in. I smoke a fuck load of pot and have dabbled with a few sexy amounts of hard drugs so paranoia is like my best friend he's just a prick. But dude if one cop showed up at my door I would be laughing I wouldn't let that fuckin pig in. I almost got shot by 20 cops over a fuckin cap gun because some fucker thought that kids filming a movie were shooting each other that was something to shit your pants about, but yeah how was the rush when you destroyed your plants?

thats nothing one time i was chilling at my friends house, and like a dumbass he keeps look ing around the fence because there is a cop at some house across the street.then all os a sudden 5 cars roll up with fucking pigs yelling "get your hands up!" with guns pointed at us.they searched the car we were hanging out by for some reason. AND THEY DID NOT FIND THE WEED THAT WAS IN A TOPS CONTAINER ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR!

LOL dude 5 cars is not a fucking fleet of them they had Dogwood blocked off and all the buildings around us were evacuated and were like oh fuck no big deal they think its the neighbors because we had a scanner till we see them coming down the drive way guns drawn

And dude your landlord can't just come in to your place. The landlord has to give you a days notice and it has to be a written document. My buddies live in an apartment and they get them once in a blue moon just keep the scent hidden. Lets say your landlord gives you a slip saying s/he is coming in for an inspection the next day. Don't freak just smoke a joint and place your clones into a box and take em over to a buddies fuck just leave em in the box shes not going to go rooting through your shit.
