Odd Growing?

My plants have been doing quite well I guess you could say - I planted them about two weeks ago, and they look fine. But the way they are growing, they're not necessarily growing any taller than 3 inches, but they're blooming outwards. It's hard to explain and I'll try to get a pic up but can anyone take a wild guess as to whats happening? I have yet to fertilize them.

To give a diagnosis we really need a picCuz 3" is more like 1 week growthWe need to know things like what your growing medium and your nutrients

Now that I look at it, it just seems as if most of the light is going to the top of the plant, and it isn't getting enough at the sides. An accurate assumption or nah?

They look good and healthyMaybe a little small for 2 weeksI think your growing with cfl's You only need them cfl's for the 1st week then you should put'em under at least a 400 watter MH They will grow a lot faster

Eh, I'm only growing a few plants dude! I was planning on using CFL's throughout the entire grow.. I have 4 42 watt bulbs adding up to over 10,000 lumens, which should be okay for a while, until they grow tall and I get more lights for the sides, right?

Just checkin'. Also, when should I add fertilizer to my plants?

I'm using this - which contains canadian spaghnum peat moss, perlite, limestone, and vermiculite.

ya man they look good.. make sure with the cfls u keep them close with a fan an stuff or u will end up with some really airy lengthy fluffy buds ..

those cfl's will work for ya ... for that few plants ... yea . Good luck - they look like they are off to healthy start .

Your plants look fine. I grow with CFL's only too. That one light on top will be fine until the plant is about 4.5 to 5 inches tall. What color temp are you using?

The color temp of my bulbs are 6500k I believe.

yep that plant looks very good. you can grow with cfls but remember - keep your plant short and your bulbs as close as possible! cfls are no good with 3 feet plants. flower them early, even right now, and tie them down if you have to, to keep the plant short and compact. it will be good
