It depends on what kind of conservatives you're talking about. "Conservative" is a pretty broad term. People who identify as conservatives generally fall within one or the other of two almost equally broad categories, authoritarian conservatives (the bible-banging law-and-order types) and libertarian conservatives (the "leave me alone and keep government out of my business" types). People who fall into the first group probably aren't going to be smoking a whole lotta weed, but I know a fair number of libertarian conservatives who think smoking dope is their business, not the government's.
