More tops = smaller colas?

I was wondering if the more tops you had made smaller colas? I have like 12 colas bc my plant grew sideways n made MASSIVE heads. Could that make smaller colas vs if there was one main one?

i only grew 2 plants this year but the one i topped more had alot more colas, but the buds were a little smaller so yeah i think your right

I did not top. The plant started growing sideways following the sun and it branched out from the side causing CRAZY tops.

It depends on a few things. Single cola plants are gonna have a fatter cola, but I don't thing a 2 top plants colas have to be smaller than a 4 or10 top colas.

Has to do with strain, and veg time. If you have a lot of tops, but give enough veg time they can stil be big, the main stems cola always seems to be the biggest bud even when topped and trained.

I've always topped all of mine but for hydro I don't... I like bushes too deff since I can't grow legally so my squatter plants stay low key and under the radar... Plus I plant by trees that stay green year round... I guess you could say I'm on the fence between one main cola or multiple colas... To each their own!

ok this is the deal, if you plant to do an SOG of SCROG you want to maximize your canopy, by topping and lsting you maximize the canopy so you can use your light more efficiently, in certain situations this means bigger yields for your light, now if you have plenty of light and space to spread your plants out, then yes it is pointless, that is all
