so question is, Would that be considered an effective form of discipline knowing that 'it doesnt really hurt'?
i hated the belt it was so degrading. An often times uncalled for.Using physical violence to coherse someone into doing what you want is wrong. its called bullying. now, if your a denise the menise type mother fucker, who intentionally did some damage, just to piss me off. hey, i might get a lil physical. beat the fuck out the kid? no. spank the shit out of him with my head? yes, because using your hand youll know when enough is enough. your hand stings like shit and he knows he did wrong. but i believe the abuse is not only about application but also in frequency. your having to use the belt everyday indicates your methods arent working and simply beating hardedr just isnt going to cut it. your obviously still giving him enough so as he doesnt think hes getting punished.
The beauty about nowandays is when a kid is too old to be spanked, he probably has video games and favorite tv shows. can you imagine any kid going without tv, phone, internet or video games for an entire week? hell i dont know of ADULTS who can go an entire week without one of those. so thats were effective grounding comes into play. just saying

lol maybe. idk, i dont really begrude them. i have more issues with my brother and sister telling me when i was younger no one wants me around, i should move out of their house, i messed everything up when i moved here. Or when i was on anti-depressants they used to make fun of me for taking them.

using a belt is not going to far. kids need to have a respectfull fear of there father. that way before they do sumthing bad they will think of that ass wooping they are going to get from dad. it starts out with little things and if you stop it there it wont leed to the bigger things like trouble with the law.

and what it comes down to is dont pawn your kids off to just anyone cause they want to spend the night at a friends house. keep your kids at home. have there friends stay the night

i agree with you on the respectful fear of their father, i completely understand that dude! i say that to my wife all the time. but a belt, maybe my children are too young right now for me to be imagining using the belt. like i said before, im sure there are situations in which a belt, or a hand spanking is neccessary. just dont get crazy with it. but i completely agree that kids should know the limits at a young age so as not to be pushing them when they get older for fear of the consequences.

lofl, this toddler came over a few months ago and he slammed my door over and over and i got pissed so i got my nasty voice on and i said, i don't know whether your mother lets you slam the door atyour house but you DO NOT DO THAT IN MY HOME!. the poor kid started crying and was pissed off. he got kind of nasty afterwards but he didn't slam the door again. he now listens to me. i told him take off your shoes on the couch, he does. i said, clean up toys you play with, he does it. i say thank you of course.
you can scare a kid by looking at them lol. how many kids have a traumatized in fast food places while their parents werent looking??? it's funny but in reality, the parents should be the one giving the "dont make me go over there" face to get them to act properly.

My two year old son usually gets his hand slaped but when he gets really out of hand and throws a tantrum I spank his bottom with a belt. not hard but i feel that when i spank him with my hand I could hurt him. im 6'2 260 so my hands are pretty big and heavey. A belt just stings a little and gets the point across. spanking your kids or just finding a way to put them in there place is the best thing you can eer do for them in there life. I sure wish my dad was around to do it.

i tell my wife you got to learn the jekyl and hyde look. you know all is well, than the kid acts up, you contort yourface into an angry face, and raise your voice ina scary way, and then STOP. scares the shit out of em. they think your about to get up and spank em. but you dont have to cause they know what comes next.

i remember my dad used to spank me, but it was only once or twice, then i learned not piss him off... he would work on off shore oil rigs and had been doing that for 10 before i was born in the 80's... so there wasnt any iron rough necks, just pure raw man muscle and my dad was a work horse and was huge and exceptionally strong, i mean really strong, i still get people today telling me stories of my dad lifting things that you would think were un liftable by a person...
either way, when he spanked, i listened and thats what these demon kids nowadays...
i put the blame on irresponsible parents that dont pay attention to their kids...
