Didn't want to search out a plumbing forum! So, I'm rearranging a little plumbing to give my space more of it, working with cpvc. Question is, and not to found on the primer bottle or instructions found else where, how long to you wait after apply the primer? Do you let it dry? Couple minutes? Or do you/ can you immediately apply the glue and bind? Anyone wear a plumber's hat?

You can apply the glue after primer within 60 seconds. The primer dries mega-fast and just cleans the area for a good seal.

Glad to see you got your question answered quickly. I have done some plumbing over the past 40 years or so. They have fittings now that use a snap lock. They are more expensive to buy and have the advantage of not being permanent. Another advantage is you can have different types of pipe. No glue, no flaring, no soldering. Just push your pipe in til it seats in the 'O' ring and you are good to go. Wish I would have used them when I redid all my water lines to install a new water softner. It would have saved me a few days of farting around. When I was running the water lines into my grow room it took me less than two hours to cut my mainline, put in a T, and run from there into the grow room, put two hose connection, one at each end with the appropriate shut off valves. Since a lot of the work was done in a crawl space, not having to lug a lot of tools around was a big plus. Menards and Lowe's both carry these fittings and I will never use anything else. It took less than an hour to take the line apart and install my RO system. Check it out before you need to make changes again.

Not many use Primer and it is always a good idea. I myself have been guilty and said fuck it and just glued shit together without Primer. It works but is not the accepted method.

3. Never Ever bite your fingernails!
Primer dry time depends on the temp. the colder it is the more time it will take. Never Ever glue under 44F it will not dry. Purple primer does a little more then clean the pipe, it actualy softens it and seperate/disipates water. Pour a little in a puddle of water and watch it go crazy.
As for stains, take caution once it "sets" its there forever. If you catch it quick rub dry dirt on it real fast and it will pull it out. ALWAYS close the lid after every appliaction I have seen to many people make the mistake of tipping it over. When applying dont sling it around fast it hurts like a mutha in your eyeball.
The quick connect fittings are called "Shark Bites" and they would cost a fortune to do anything large scale but they do work very well. Theyre quick and they make me lots of money!
CPVC/Copper/PEX all have the same OD (outside diameter) so you can have mutiple piping when using them.

I was thinking of using the shark bites for a new grow room. Not for the whole room, but just for the main connection. That way I could easily isolate the room if a plumber was coming over to do some work.
