Are my girls ready?

well I've had some mixed reviews on when my girls will be ready and the temps are dropping in the fifties tonight so I'm thinking its time to harvest. I've got some brown hairs and great resin glands going on. Should I go ahead and harvest tomorrow?

no looks like the hairs stil need to receed and change color

get a microscope i use a 30X very cheap usb and look at thc when then are all milky it will be soon and you shoudl start flushing if you do that

clear>milky>Amber and amber means done, this could take a week or two or three depending on strain

try to make it till halloween if the weather will let you. just keep an eye on it for mold. you wont regret it if you wait at least 3 more weeks

A wise blue bird once told me "Good things happen to those who wait"

cold wont kill it unless it freezes, in fact cold will aid it in turning its fall colors. still 2-3 weeks to go tho

I'm just gonna repeat what the others have already said: wait! Also, get the microcope one of the members mentioned aboved - 30x or greater, not expensive either. Then, read up on what you should be looking for regarding trichome color. It isn't necessarily easy getting familiar with what to look for, but it's a better indicator than looking at the plant with a bare eye, especially when you don't have a lot of experience under your belt.

first off I wanna say thanks! to everyone who responded...I'm still learning....

as for the question, some friends who have grown before said they looked like they were dying and I should go ahead and harvest them, but I was like, uh...let me ask these very knowledgable folks at rollitup and as always (so far LOL), you guys haven't let me down. I'm so glad I asked before taking those fools advice! peace ya'll!

theirs not many ways it can look when its done and the usb miscro scope from carson is, cheap, and can upload photos to your computer so you can ask more questions with reasonable answers

Want some more invaluable advice? A cannabis grower doesn't have friends when it comes to his garden. If you really want to avoid problems, keep it to yourself and just post online.

Someone I knew for almost 20 years tried to rip me off (and he was partially successful, until I found out who it was and got it back).

Amber is a sign of degraded THC that has become CBN. Amber means overdone.

But if someone wants to throw away THC to get more nearly worthless CBN then they should wait until they have amber trichomes before they harvest.
CBD is more potent than THC, thats why CBD strains are only like 4 % CBD, where as THC can easily be in the 20% margin in quality genetics. on the high end of both the CBD strain will likely "feel" more potent. thats why medical users who suffer pain or sleeplessness go for CBD strains.
Trichomes will further degrade after turning amber into useless masses of brown goo if you let the plant die before you pick it. the heads will explode and all pschoactive effects will be lost.
really its a question of taste, i have never really felt "stoned" off high sativas or early picked bud, but thats just me. to each his own

wow, that's fascinating stuff. I have nerve pain constantly so any strain that tempers my state of mind helps. I feel so much older than I actually am! ;)
I wish I understood the differences between THC and CBN as far as looking at the plant but for me either or works for my purposes.
