Are my girls ready?

my plant was in very cold climate during my last harvest. it was going down to 40s at night lol. i am in south cal but still, it can get colda at night. she never turned purple. i love purple becuase it's pretty but i am not convinced it's any better in quality or taste. it's fun to look at :) i wouldn't have minded purple but i didn't get any from the cold. anywyaaz, long story short, my particular genetics seem to do ok in the cold. it is harder for flowering though because there is not as much quality sun. i recommend bringing inside for a few hours during the day under strong lights. outside is good when you have good sun but you need quite a bit of direct sun to get good flowers.

we don't get frost here ever i don't think sot hat's not a concern. i love outdoor growing because i think fresh air is great for my plant. she wasn't as happy inside in the stale air & i have a huge 6 ft window in my closet.

now I know why I've always like the color purple :)

no strong lights inside and wouldn't you know it, its raining and cool weather here in Atlanta lately . I have a sun-room but that's no help when there ain't no sun LOL

yeah, you can buy some cfls or a cheap HPS system and put them undder. you can also do a combo. it wouldn't be expensive but it does cost something. sometimes u can find used stuff that's good quality on craigslist 4 cheap.

hahaha well set up some cfls around her and come to the indoor growing side
will do, have three already just need bulbs.

lol, most people do, i don't. i don't have a real closet and since i put her out in the sun during the day, it's a secondary thing. i don't bother but i've thought about it, it's probably not a bad idea. you should ask on the indoor board, they know a lot more about growing inside than i do.

yupp reflective material is optional but more efficient, except aluminum foil it just reflects heat. you can buy mylar at alot of diffrent local shops, works great, even emergency blankets work

It just happens to have its own private garden in the woods! hehehehe gotta get a four wheeler to scoot around the property. Its just over 4 acres. I'm stoked! :D

P.S. Did I mention its only a 5 minute drive to the lake? yeah baby!

well we are going to get our first frost tomorrow and my (other) best girl is looking like the oomph is going out of her. I'm harvesting this weekend, giving her till the end of the week at least in my sunroom. The smaller plant has at least three more weeks but I don't know how I'm going to manage as I am moving this weekend and I know the shock may get her. Ugh. I'll post new pics tomorrow! peace!

hey there, i was thinking about you. sorry to hear about the bad timing witht he plants and the move. I have some positive news, my last plant i had to harvest way too early because she had gnats and the smoke was still amaziing. don't be to hard on yourself, do your best and strive to achieve better next time.

thanks for that, that reassures me. I appreciate your interest, the girls are still with us, I haven't harvested the big one yet. The move took it out of me, we're only halfway done but I had to take a break, COPD flare up. Its ok though, I have some strong antibiotics that the doc gave me in reserve so I'm attacking it full force :) Question...Should I just cut the bottom stalk and hang her upside down? that's what a friend does with his and he has cured some pretty good smoke that way.

yes, pretty much. i still haven't chopped mine either. cehck out my thread.

last harvest, i chopped, then i clipped the outer leaves off and then i hung. you can hang without clipping, some people take the clipping and use them for something like hash or butter. i was thinkign about doing that. last time i tossed, such a shame to think i threw out all that. i hink it depends how the leaves look, if they are covered in trichs, it's a shame to toss. u will figure it out. i am not that experienced lol, this is onyl my 2nd harvest and i only groww for personal use. there are some folks here who grow loads, hopefully they tell us what to do so we have good options/

So here is where I'm at, the cold is getting the tall girl the hardest. She's coming down tonight. The trichs are cloudy and amberish
so I'm thankful for that.
